Convey: Let Your Writer Know What You Want

There are millions of websites existing today. All of them are looking for a high ranking place in the World Wide Web. How do these websites become lucrative at present? While a lot did business selling products and services in the past, a lot of profitable websites these days do not sell physical products. Instead, they offer information.

This is where writers come in. Skilled content writers provide fresh, unique and well-written material about different subjects that interest and attract several readers. If there are more readers on your website, then there is more potential to draw more visitors and, at the end of the day, more revenue for you.

If your website is constantly updated with new, unique and appealing articles, then you can expect customers to return because they find the free information useful. While you are busy marketing and promoting your website, your hands will be too full to come up with several articles on a daily basis. Therefore, you need to outsource writers.

When employing the services of a content writer, remember that different writers have different writing styles. The great news though when hiring experienced content writers is that they can change their style and tone to suit your needs. However, you can't expect your writer to read your mind. You cannot just tell him to write about the world and expect him to turn in an impressive piece about the Taj Mahal which was the exact thing you wanted him to write about. If you don't give your writer the specifics, you'll probably end up reading an article about the Aborigines of Tasmania or the late Steve Erwin.

To avoid such a disaster, the following are some of things your writer ought to know when giving him an assignment:

1. Give him an overview of what you want written. You should briefly explain the subject you have in mind and let him know who the target readers are. Do not overload him with unnecessary information because this will only confuse him and you may find yourself reading an article on something altogether different from what you had in mind initially.

2. Let him know your preferred format. This includes if he should be using Microsoft Word or Notepad or some other word processor. Let him know what font style and font size you use and if the document should be aligned left, aligned right or justified. Tell him your minimum word count.

3. Give him samples and references. This way, your writer will have an exact idea of how you want things done. He can follow the tone and even apply the writing style. He can also go through the references you provided to assist him in writing the article.

4. Make sure you have means of communication. If there is anything you want added to an article, you can easily relay it to him. If he has inquiries about the subject, then he can easily reach you for answers. You can also check on his progress to make sure that he meets the deadline.

5. Always provide objective feedback. Your writer needs to know his areas for improvement. With constant positive criticism, he can continuously develop his skills while providing you with well-written articles.

6. Let him know his work is appreciated. Aside from the pay, your writer will be motivated to write well when he knows that his articles are valued. If he is meeting, or even exceeding, your expectations, let him know. It will benefit both sides.

In a nutshell, let your writer know what you want and he will definitely deliver quality.
