Building an online business persona requires an organized approach to "branding" your business. It's important that your target market begins to recognize you and what you represent. Of course, the integrity behind that persona is vital as well. Being recognized, and recognized as reputable, will take your business a long way.

Branding involves more than just a graphic or logo with your business name displayed. Successful branding is visual recognition, which leads to positive thoughts about your business. You want this as an online businessperson. Think of your favorite ice cream or coffee brand. Picture their advertising presence, and your feelings and thoughts when you see their name and logos. No doubt, those companies worked hard to brand themselves.

In affiliate marketing, the companies whom affiliate products you sell have already done this work. Therefore, you will not concern yourself with branding products. What you will brand is yourself as the intermediary between customer and affiliate parent.

How will you do this successfully? The following are a few ways to build your online brand or persona. You will build your recognition as a reliable marketer by following these steps.

Be Consistent

Logos, colors, graphics are important to getting business recognition. Give some thought to the visuals and design colors you want to represent your brand (affiliate business). Then apply these consistently across the board.

Have your blog "look" complement the look of your website. Have these resemble those business cards you hand out, or your online PDF brochure. Make your advertising banners follow these themes. Even your e-mail messages can have this consistency of color and design. People begin to know you as an individual affiliate marketer more, when they see consistency of presentation.

Connect The Visual To The Intellect

The content associated with your graphics, logos, colors are of paramount importance. You must present something of substance to your target market. Your writing in the form of messages to your niche must have value to them. Your website content and blog content should be interesting and informative. Your advertising writing must also inform while encouraging action.

Make your writing something your audience needs to read. Your customer will connect visual recognition to quality content. Seeing your logo will have them think, "They probably have some noteworthy information on their site today."

Present Articles That Connect To Your Brand

Article writing as part of an article marketing campaign helps build your brand. Write quality informative articles and have a good article distribution service get them out into cyberspace. When your audience sees your business link in the Author's Resource Box, you begin to build brand recognition.

The more articles you have out there with your business name attached, the more people are aware of you. Again, they will associate your brand with top-notch, detailed and helpful information.

Have A Catch Phrase Or Tagline

Brand yourself with a few well-chosen words. You can further an online business through a good catch phrase or tagline. The more people see it, the more they think of you and what you have to offer. These select words are like micro-commercials for your business. Have this tagline accompany your graphics, logos, e-mail signature and such.

These few, but powerful words, wherever and whenever seen, will make people think of you. Need proof; "Good to the Last Drop", "Diamonds are Forever"; what comes to mind?

Present "You" Properly

You yourself build your brand. That's why it's important to act with decorum and respect towards others when posting on social forums. It's also important when you respond to blog comments or e-mail inquiries. Treat your audience with respect and a positive image of your business will result. You will receive branding as a dignified business worthy of customers' respect.

Presenting yourself properly also involves discussing your affiliate marketing business appropriately face-to-face. There's a right time and a wrong time to get your salesperson suit on. Learn to discern when it's the right time to present your affiliate products and affiliate business opportunity in person. Tact plays a big part in building a successful business persona.

Take the time to develop your brand. When people see you, your blog, website, articles, advertisements, you want their thoughts to be good ones. How consumers look at, feel about, and think about your business are extremely important. It can mean the difference between business failure and business success.
