High PageRank does not results in high Search Engine rankings

"Page Rank" a very well known term to most search engine marketers. The affinity of Page Rank is heard by all for many good reasons. Google introduced the concept of Page Rank in 1998 and since then all search engine marketing professionals have been adopting strange strategies to up their rankings. Is Page Rank worth of all the efforts?
One thing which attracts people towards Page Rank is that it tends to reward people for their efforts on a scale of 1-10. Page Rank measures success quantitatively and a factor of happiness for both marketers and their clients.
Since its inception there is only one and one thing which has been extremely important for Google, which is the visitor of the website. Google has always told to the world that sites can achieve high rankings only if they focus on the visitor of the site. Make your site more informative and easy to use for your site visitors and you don't need much in order to succeed in Internet Marketing.

Link building is no different than this. The same methodology should be used in link building. While exchanging links for your website you should keep in mind that the links should offer useful content, rich information and relevant to the topics showcased in your website. Instead of a link algorithm it should be you who should decide the relevance of a link your site connects to.

There are many genuine link exchange offers which are turned barely on the basis of Page Rank, rejections of such link requests results in a loss of abeyant traffic and search engine marketing opportunities for both sides.

PR followers will undoubtedly argue that links on a site with low PR will not help them. If we talk strictly in PR terms a site can easily get a high PR within months if it engages in a genuine reciprocal link program. Everyone should keep in mind that if Google changes it Page Rank algorithm it can easily bring the PR down from 6 or 7 to PR 2 or 3. Page Rank does not help you in achieving the desired ranking in Google search engine. Yes, it may help you in creating a good repo with your clients and first time site visitors.

I do not intend to nullify the efforts of search engine marketers, but I want my fellow marketers and customers to know the fact that Page Rank does not helps in achieving high ranking in search engines. What matters is the relevancy and neighborhood of the link.
I hope this article makes things more clear and understandable for those who run after high PR links and in the process miss good relevant links. In other words webmasters should pay attention to the webpage and not to the Page Rank.
