Internet Marketing And How To Drive That Traffic

Sure, it is easier to just buy it but that strategy does not always bring forth the best results. You can spend a whole lot of money and still are guaranteed no results. Truthfully, if you are a small business owner or one who works from home then you can get traffic for free. It is important that you understand that there is one negative aspect of free traffic and that is the time factor involved.

It takes more time for your traffic to build, and you will also need to invest more of your time. The end result is that the quality of traffic that you will generate will be much higher than that which you purchase and best of all, it is free.

Time is a very precious commodity. Make sure the website you are trying to drive traffic to is properly optimized to accept opt-in list signups or make sales, otherwise you will be wasting your time. Submit your site to the major search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN to as many other search engines as you can. Write a couple articles each week and then submit them to free article directories and include a link to your site after each article. The articles should be optimized for a keyword your site is targeting.

Submit those same articles to email newsletter publishers in your niche. Involve yourself in blogs that are related to your topic, leave comments with links to your site. If you begin to make a presence and answer questions, which you should know since you are only going to be involved in only areas where you have useful knowledge to share and make sure that while you are establishing this presence that you leave a link to your site in each of your answers. Join a handful of the most popular forums that deal with your site's topic and become an active poster. Include a link to your site in your signature.

Write a press release about your site and submit it to press release sites and if you are not confident about press releases then either do a bit of research or hire that little task out.

Start a blog, start many and link them to your site and submit them to the hundreds of free blog directories. This will get you plenty of quality traffic as long as you keep your blogs updated. Post ads with a link to your site on all the free classified ad sites you can find (such as craigslist). The best ones will allow you to post a live link, but do not neglect the other ones. If your ad is well written, people will go out of their way and type your URL in their browser. Off course you must post in the appropriate category.

Start a page on MySpace and on any other high page rank social bookmarking site you can find and link them to your site. Submit a viral video to Youtube.com. You do not really need any video producing know-how as a simple PowerPoint slideshow with some background music will do the job. While all this looks like a full time job, remember, you do not have to use them all at once. Just pick the one you feel the best with and act now.

Invest 30 minutes to an hour daily in building your free traffic and watch the results!
