It also helps to reflect what your blog is all about. Now that you have your blog, let's talk about getting started with earning and what you need to do.

First, you need to research and select your market. Among the many things you have to do is evaluating your current competition. You can go for the highly competitive markets or you can choose one that you are interested in. I recommend the latter, only because, it would make learning and writing about, much easier for you. Not to mention, more enjoyable than writing about something you don't really care about.

Blogger also offers widgets that directly link you to Google AdSense which would help monetize your blog and give you a source of revenue.

Now that you have your blog set-up, you need ads. You can join sites like adbrite where they allow potential clients (people who want to place ads on your blog) to contact you directly. You can let them know how much the blog space is as well as talk about other terms, including how long the ad would be up and so on.

Get content for your blog.

This is your blog's bread and butter. So make sure that you only get relevant content for your blog and as much as possible, update it on a daily basis.
