Weird, Wild, Whacky eBay Auctions & What are Drop Shippers?

Just like every other public gathering, eBay draws its share of the weird, wild and whacky individuals.

You might remember the ghost in a jar auction that one got national attention and it was funny but it was not all that unique. There are a lot of crazy auctions that happen on eBay.

Ebay doesnt have a lot of hard and fast rules about what can or cannot be offered for auction. Anything that doesnt meet the requirements for being listed on the regular eBay sales pages can usually be listed in the mature section.

Here are a few weird, wild and whacky eBay auctions of the past; and you can bet that there are some taking place as we speak:

1.A broken record: This one was a broken 45 rpm record, the pieces of which were framed and it sold for $5. The song was This Guys In Love With You by Herb Alpert on the A&M label.

2.A cats toenail clippings: This one was a real bargain; the shipping was only 39 cents.

3.Teleportation machine: The asking price is only $49.50 and you can travel all over earth and beyond; no airplane required.

4.My forehead: This guy is willing to sell advertising space on his forehead.

5.Invisible Thing Mover: Advertised by a mother whose daughter swears that it wasnt her but the invisible thing mover that did it. Just postage required for shipping. She thinks the thing mover will fit in an envelope.

6.Prosthetic blue eye: This guys neighbor left him several in his will; he has other colors to choose from.

7.A Buddha Potato: It almost got cooked but was spared in the nick of time. The advertisement says, He is ready to transcend into a higher state

You can find just about anything on eBay!

What are Drop Shippers?:
Drop shippers are businesses. They stock merchandise, they usually have large warehouses full of a variety of items. Their business is to sell their merchandise through you to your customers. They sell to you at wholesale prices. You sell to your customers at retail prices.

Your profit is the difference between the wholesale and retail price. They package and ship the merchandise directly to your customer eliminating your need to buy inventory and to store inventory.

You can easily locate drop shippers. You can find lists of drop shippers on the Internet. You simply type in the words drop shippers into the search box of your favorite search engine. You will get many search results. There are drop shippers who sell just about every item under the sun and in every price range.

The process works like this:

1.You sign up on the drop shippers web site. You tell the drop shipper that you are going to sell the merchandise through eBay. You need to carefully read the terms of sales that will be listed on the website. You need to be certain that there are no minimum purchase requirements and that they will ship single items.

2.Choose the items from the drop shippers inventory that you want to sell. The drop shipper will supply you with a description and picture of each item. Let's
say that one item that you choose to sell will cost you $5.99.

3.List the item for sale on eBay. You will price the item at, maybe, $19.95.

4.You sell an item.

5.As soon as you receive payment for the item, you notify the drop shipper of the sale either by phone or by filling out a form on the drop shippers website. You give the drop shipper the name and address of your customer.

6.You pay the drop shipper for the item and for the shipping; you have charged your customer for shipping so this doesnt come out of your pocket.

7.The drop shipper packages and ships the item to your customer.
