New And Interesting Search Engines Of 2008

We all know about the Googles and the Yahoo search engines by now, but once in awhile I like to use something a little more interesting and a little less cliche. Sure Google and Yahoo are nice search engines within their own rights, but if you are looking for particular things you might just enjoy the ones listed below. The first one is a regular search engine like Google but it also includes a lot of nice written content, which gives it a nicer feel than Google with its tons of ads and all that annoying stuff. The second one is a music search engine, you can enter in an artist or band name and it will come up with a chart sort of like a "6 degrees of separation" type of thing. And the last one is cool as well, and its very user-friendly which I think is something we all enjoy! So let's get on to the engines so I can tell you a little more about them.

Find - When I first heard of this engine all I kept hearing was the business side of me going "wow now that's a great domain name" and it is, but more than that it's also a terrific engine where you cannot only just search but you can also find out information about certain subject. For example, if we go to Electronics, we will see a few extra subcategories to choose from such as Bluetooth Headsets, Cellphone Cameras, Cellphones & Home Theatre Systems. Now if you click Bluetooth you will be given a little summary of what Bluetooth is, how its used, what its functions are and much more. But as said above you can also use this as a search engine, by placing whatever you are looking for in the search box and pressing "find". I did a search for money, and results that were relevant to money showed up. Very easy to use, minimal ads means minimal annoyance, and its got a nice user-friendly template as well!

Like - This is a great visual type search engine. Its like Google images except you can actual find items to buy just by doing a visual image search for those items. For example, if I go to the shoe image I can then, refine the results with subcategories such as boots, casual, sandals, etc. It will visually show you which kinds of shoes are in those categories. Ya, this is a terrific engine to use for any of your shopping adventures online! Once you find a shoe you like, simply click it, and it will then open a new page with the website that shoe is on for example, Nike, Zappos, DSW, Shoe mall. Oh and you can really refine your search with more options than just the type of shoe, or the type of shirt, you can also pick other options such as color, brand, material, and site. So this is really useful and fun if you want to shop online but don't want to visit 50 thousand websites looking for just two items. It's a time saver pretty much.

Cuil - The people who own Cuil say that it's the largest search engine on the web today, honestly I don't know how true that is considering I have never heard of it and no one I know has ever heard of it. Cuil is a mixture of a nice interface, a great looking template and easy to use features such as roll over definitions, tabs and a nice navigation system which is actually being used by a lot of search engines these days. You simply type in a few letters of what your looking for and it will show a downward menu of some suggestions, which in turn saves you time and helps you out. I don't usually use mine for things like eBay or the Steelers website because, hello, I already know those links very well. However, I do use it for other things such as "buy forum." and then it shows online, members, website, template, script, etc. Its pretty nice but its one of those things where you have to get used to it!

Obviously there are millions of engine showing up every single day but these are some of the ones that are being talked about in a very good way as of late. Everyone seems to enjoy these search engines, amongst many others because they all offer the same type of option (search) but they also are all different and all offer different things, different things that make them "cool" or easy to use or fun. I suggest checking the top three out, who knows they might become your number 1 engine! Have fun!
