Points to Consider While Developing Web 2.0 Web Design.

As a web designer, you should design your websites to give your visitors the greatest ease of use, the best impression and most important of all a welcoming experience. It doesn't matter if you had the greatest product in the whole world. Basic web site design is about giving your visitors a positive experience, making it easy for them to quickly understand what your web page is all about, and providing them with the information they came to you seeking. Web 2.0 web design might seem to be not so difficult task but making it a success in the world of internet requires some basic points to follow. Apart from being optimized properly, its template layout design is equally important. The website has to be functional enough where the site visitor can surf through the web pages with ease. Proper links should be assigned in the web page.

Hence, I have highlighted some features of the worst web designs I've come across. So what elements should you avoid as in your basic web site design?

1) Background music:
Unless you are running a site which promotes a band, a CD or anything related to music, I would really advise you to stay away from putting looping background music onto your site. It might sound pleasant to you at first, but imagine if you ran a big site with hundreds of pages and every time a visitor browses to another page on your site, the background music starts playing again.

2) Extra large/small text size:
As I said, there is more to web design than purely graphics -- user accessibility is one big part of it too! You should design the text on your site to be legible and reasonably sized to enable your visitors to read it without straining their eyes. No matter how good the content of your website or your sales copy is, if it 's illegible you won't be selling anything!

3) Popup windows:
Popup windows are so blatantly used to display advertisements that in my mind, 90% of popup windows are not worth my attention so I just close them on instinct every time each one manages to pass through my popup blocker

4) Flash Graphics:
It 's fun to play around with flash graphics, to see all the neat effects you can create. But very rarely do these elements enhance the experience of your visitors. Too often, the people who love to use them don't really know how to use them effectively. And too often, they simply prove to slow down the web page loading and annoy your visitors.

5) Out of Control Text:
A web page with different font styles, with text that 's huge, next to text you can hardly read, with red text and blue text and yellow text against a black background. Do you like reading this stuff? Neither do your visitors. Keep your use of text simple. Try to stick to a single font on your web page. Use an h1 tag for your title, and keep the rest of your text at a size that 's easy to read and comfortable on the eyes. Use black text (plus blue for links) against a white background.

6) Confusing Navigation:
Navigation is an essential aspect of a well-designed website. Easy access to the web content even if there are hundreds of pages in the site would save time and energy of the user. Sometimes web sites contain multiple sub-directories, in such instances drop down navigation menu of sub-directories can be a good option. Provision of tools that have links to different pages of a website as most, visited, most popular, etc also helps in navigation of the site.
