50 Cent Tickets - 50 Cent's Album Pushed Back...Again

The release of 50 Cent's impending new album Before I Self Destruct is being pushed back again, the rapper recently revealed in an interview by The Associated Press. Interscope Records is helming 50's newest video game, Blood in the Sand, the anxiously awaited album Before I Self Destruct and Eminem's latest effort Relapse and, according to 50, Em's album will surface first. 50 has been making the rounds promoting his video game and told radio personality Howard Stern on February 25 that his latest single "Crack a Bottle" was originally recorded for his album but may appear on Eminem's because his album is slated for an earlier release. Dr. Dre is at the helm of both new albums, and while 50's was originally due February 3 the rapper told The Associated Press, "Right now I'm on the train and the Em choo-choo car goes first. See, what happens is, I think that people forget that I'm actually Eminem's artist because I've had so much success on my own and I moved away from it. But if you look back, the very first interview I did we were on the set of "In Da Club" it was myself, Eminem and Dr. Dre. I said my goal was to fit in with Eminem and Dr. Dre. I didn't mean to fit in under Eminem and Dr. Dre I meant to git in as an equal party. And that's what I achieved over this time period. So, because Dre is mixing Em's album, Em will be completed entirely before we get a chance4 to finish up the pieces me and Dre did together."

Looking back, 50 Cent's career really did take off under the direction of Eminem, who signed the rapper to a seven-figure contract in 2002. Known for rhyming about such gritty subjects as stabbings, drugs, prison and, most famously, shootings, 50 is the product of a broken home in the rough-and-tumble Jamaica neighborhood of Queens. He first tried his hand at a rap career in the late '90s, but an attempt at his life in 2000 set him back (or propelled him forward, if you want to see it that way.) He garnered the attention of the industry with his mixtapes in 2000-2002 and, after signing with Em, stepped into the studio with the prolific MC and Dr. Dre to work on his debut album, the aptly titled Get Rich or Die Tryin'. Prior to the album's release, 50's song "Wanksta" appeared on the soundtrack to Eminem's 8 Mile and was an instant success, foreshadowing even more with his next single, "In Da Club."

The headlines around the release of 50 Cent's debut LP weren't all good ones, however, as the rapper was tied to Jam Master Jay's October 2002 shooting, the F.B.I,'s investigation of Murder Inc's drug dealings and was jailed for gun possession as well. Singles like "21 Questions" and "P.I.M.P." became hits in 2003 and he stayed quiet throughout 2004, letting other G-Unit affiliates like Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and the Game G-Unit break into the solo music scene.

50 Cent appear prominently on G Unit's singles "How We Do" and "Love It or Hate It" but they began feuding and the Game left the G-Unit fold as a result. In 2005 50 Cent's sophomore album The Massacre arrived amidst more feuding with rappers Fat Joe and Jadakiss, but nonetheless followed its predecessor to the top of the charts thanks to a string of popular singles "Disco Inferno," "Candy Shop" and "Just a Lil Bit."

Next up, 50 Cent challenged rapper Kanye West to an album-release showdown, 50's Curtis versus Kanye's Graduation, claiming that he would retire at the age of 32 if he failed to outsell West. The albums went head-to-head and West emerged victorious, with nearly every G Unit record sale being doubled by his nemesis. 50 originally asked for a rematch with Kanye, planning on releasing Before I Self Destruct around the same time West's 808 & Heartbreak was dropped but the showdown never happened. Despite 50's lackluster performance on Curtis, fans can't wait to get their hand on Before I Self Destruct, which means that 50 Cent tickets will be in high demand!
