Billy Joel Tickets - Headlining Wrigley Field

The Piano Man and the Rocket Man are joining forces on a nationwide tour once again, and it has recently been announced that the Billy Joel/Elton John double-threat will headline a date at Wrigley Field, the home of the Chicago Cubs, this summer. Joel and John's dueling pianos and sing-along classics are just one reason why fans are lining up to get Billy Joel tickets to see these living legends perform in concert, and the show at Chicago's Wrigley Field is sure to be an unforgettable one.

Billy Joel and Elton John's July 21 concert at Wrigley Field will only be the ballpark's third stand-alone concert ever performed at the legendary baseball stadium, and the two singing/songwriting superstars will join the ranks of islander Jimmy Buffett (who performed at the stadium in 2005) and British rockers the Police (who played at Wrigley Field in 2007) as the only rare performing acts to ever grace the stage (or field, for that matter) as music acts at the stadium. Both Buffett and the Police had sold-out performances in Chicago and much of the same is expected for Billy Joel and Elton John's dynamic show. Tickets are expected to run in three categories ranging from $55 to $175, they are available now.

New Yorker Billy Joel is one of the most celebrated pianistic music icons ever, and this soft rock king had music on his mind from adolescence, when he gave up his passion of boxing to pursue a singing career after he saw the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. Diving head first into all things music, Billy Joel joined a band in Long Island in the '60s and eventually caught local fame when he played with a group called the Echoes when he was just 16 years old. Joel eventually broke off from the band and formed the duo Attila in the late '60s, ending his music career soon thereafter and writing commercial jingles until the early '70s, when he got back on the musical horse and kept riding.

The song "Captain Jack" and a move to Los Angeles in 1972 led Billy Joel to a major label contract and a burgeoning music career, and Joel's 1973 album Piano Man bolstered the fledgling musician into the national spotlight for the first time. The title track became an instant Billboard hit and dive bar sing-along song, and Billy Joel whizzed through the '70s pumping out hit songs like "Say Goodbye to Hollywood," "New York State of Mind" and "Just the Way You Are," the latter of which would go on to win a Grammy Award in 1978. Billy Joel kept heating up the music scene in the 1970s and made a smooth transition into the '80s, churning out hits like "Sometimes a Fantasy," "She's Got a Way" and "Uptown Girl" while also becoming a key figure on the rising MTV scene.

Billy Joel is still a key figure in American pop culture, and he has been adorned with multiple awards for his phenomenal career over the years, including the prestigious Grammy Living Legend Award in 1991. Joel continues releasing albums into the 2000s, and despite a stint in rehab and gossip surrounding his marriage to 23-year-old Katie Lee in 2004, the rocker continues lighting up the music scene, most recently releasing Fantasies & Delusions in 2001 and 12 Gardens Live in 2006. Billy Joel is still in the spotlight as his current tour with Elton John unfolds, and America has not seen the last of this piano virtuoso.
