Eagles Tickets - On the Long Road

The Eagles have evolved as one of the most embraced classic rock bands of all time. It seems that everybody who's anybody knows the lyrics to the famed, "Hotel California." For fans of this 1970s-era band, it's as if they never really went away. These days the rockers are gearing up for a massive worldwide tour that will likely draw millions of fans to locations around the globe. The Eagles released their self-titled debut album in 1972. Immediately critics and fans knew they had a gem as the album shot to the Top 20 on the charts and went gold in about a year and a half. Some of the recognizable hits spotted on the effort are: "Take It Easy," "Witchy Woman" and "Peaceful Easy Feeling." Listeners immediately latched onto their earthy elements of rock & roll, country and folk, and this early effort was a sign of more innovative things to come.

The Eagles' second album, Desperado, was released the following year to much anticipation and it went gold in less than a year and half, spawning the Top 40 single "Tequila Sunrise." The title track actually went onto become one of the band's better known songs and was later included in their first hits collection. On the Border followed in March 1974 (the Eagles wasted no time in the recording studio), and it almost immediately went gold and reached the Top Ten on the charts that June. It was the band's fastest-selling album thus far. Two songs that became fan favorites then and remain a couple of the Eagles' most beloved hits are: "Already Gone" and "The Best of My Love."

It was easy to predict then, that the band's next release would blow all the rest out of the water. One of These Nights was a smash hit, featuring the hot singles, "Lyin' Eyes" and "Take It to the Limit." It was for this album that the Eagles earned Grammy nods for Album of the Year and Record of the Year. The group was now a top, headlining act that made their way throughout Europe. A compilation album, Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975), arrived in all its glory in 1976, and it was the first album certified platinum for sales of one million copies. It ended up battling Michael Jackson's Thriller for the title of best-selling album of all time in the United States.

The Eagles fifth album, Hotel California, kept up with the obvious pattern of success. "New Kid in Town," "Hotel California" and "Life in the Fast Lane" all became top singles on the charts, and "Hotel California" ended up winning a Grammy Award for Record of the Year. Their last album released before their official breakup was The Long Run, and they certainly went out with a bang, as it reached the number one spot on the charts and went platinum.

The Eagles reunited in the 1980s and have since been performing, collaborating and recording. In 2007, they returned with their seventh studio album, Long Road Out of Eden.
