Hilary Duff Tickets - Hilary Duff Does TV Again
Years after first charming audiences as Lizzie McGuire, Hilary Duff is coming back to television with a role on a Fox sitcom titled Barely Legal. Don't expect Duff to be playing a pre-teen anymore though, as the show features the actress/singer playing a young lawyer. The comedy is based on the true story of Kathleen Holtz, who became the youngest lawyer in California when she passed the state's notoriously difficult bar exam at the age of 18.
Actor Rob Morrow (Numb3rs) will serve as producer with Elisa Bell (Little Black Book) as scribe. Diff has signed onto the project as part of a production deal with Fox and producer Universal Media Studios. Duff has never let her acting gigs stop her from delivering music to her many fans, so check online for Hilary Duff tickets.
TV audiences will likely welcome Hilary Duff back to the small screen with open arms, as the 21-year-old triple threat got her start on the Disney Channel. Duff landed small roles in 1998's Casper and 1999's The Soul Collector before scoring her big break as the title role in Disney Channel's Lizzie McGuire. The popular show first aired in 2001 and Duff's girl-next-door appeal made the show (and its star) an instant success. Although Duff had always aspired to be a singer, she first tested her vocals when she sang "Santa Claus Lane" for Disney. The Duff track appeared on the soundtrack for The Santa Claus 2 and a holiday album of her very own followed for Duff, also called Santa Claus Lane.
Although Lizzie McGuire officially stopped taping in 2003, the popular tween show lived on in syndication and fans couldn't get enough of Hilary Duff. Duff took on more mature roles such as her big screen part in the teen spy movie Agent Cody Banks and then reprised her role as the lovable Lizzie McGuire when she starred in The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Duff continued to test the music waters by contributing two tracks, "Why Not" and "I Can't Wait" to the soundtrack for The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Hilary Duff's proper solo debut album, the aptly titled Metamorphosis, was also released in 2003 and secured the number two spot on the Billboard charts.
The album's lead single, "So Yesterday," soon became an MTV Staple and Duff appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards and the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards in support of her album. Proving she should see simultaneous success in the acting and singing worlds, Duff appeared in the film Cheaper by the Dozen before embarking on a tour in support of Metamorphosis.
After successfully making the crossover from actress to singer with her 2003 debut album (no easy feat!), Hilary Duff released her sophomore album, Hilary Duff, in 2004. The album showed a more mature Duff, with traces of the punk-pop sound of artists like Ashlee Simpson and Avril Lavigne, and was followed by big screen appearances in the films Raise Your Voice and A Cinderella Story. Duff went on tour in support of her self-titled sophomore release, which peaked at number two on the charts, but somehow managed to film The Perfect Man alongside Chris Noth (aka Mr. Big from Sex and the City) and Heather Locklear. Hilary Duff's third album, Most Wanted, was released in 2005 and featured remixed versions of "Come Clean" and "So Yesterday," as well as the hit song "Wake Up," which was penned by Benji and Joel Madden (Duff's boyfriend at the time) of Good Charlotte.
After appearing in two films in 2006, War Inc. and Material Girls, Hilary Duff released the autobiographical album Dignity, which chronicled her breakup with Madden.
