Lady Antebellum Tickets - Reaching Gold during Hollywood Glitz
Talk show hostess and standup comedian Ellen DeGeneres is constantly full of surprises, and the energetic blonde did it again on February 5, making one of her guests on The Ellen DeGeneres Show cry. DeGeneres was hosting fresh country music act Lady Antebellum in her studio for a taping of the show right before the Grammy Awards, and the talk show queen was the one to give Lady A. the good news on-air that their eponymous debut album had reached gold status. DeGeneres presented the trio of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood with the gold plaque following their performance of the upcoming single "I Run to You" on the taping, and Scott immediately choked up when she heard the news, saying, "Of course, leave it to the girl in the group to cry."
Lady Antebellum's appearance on Ellen helped promote the trio's latest single, but it also highlighted the other hit songs from their debut album, namely "Love Don't Live Here" and "Lookin' for a Good Time." This Nashville trio spent the day on Ellen in the comedian's Los Angeles studio before traveling to the Staples Center just days later for the Grammy Awards, where they were up for Best New Artist and Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
The three members of Lady Antebellum have come a long way from Augusta, Georgia, where the trio formed in 2006. In just over two years, these contemporary country crooners have helped revive the contemporary country scene to a lively honky tonk atmosphere, and it all started when Kelley, Haywood and Scott had a chance meeting in Music City. Coming together as a band in 2006, Lady Antebellum perfected their innovative blend of '60s R&B and contemporary country music before taking Nashville by storm, starting out with gigs at local watering holes and working their way up to Music City hotspots. Lady A. started gaining a considerable fan base toward the end of 2006, and the steamy trio eventually started making appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, even performing opening gigs for country heavyweights like Phil Vassar, Rodney Atkins and Carrie Underwood.
Fans with Lady Antebellum tickets followed the Georgia trio from dive bars to bona fide concert venues in 2006 and 2007, and eventually the rising stars got their shot at fame when they inked a deal with Capitol Nashville in 2007, quickly pumping out their breakout single "Love Don't Live Here." Exhibiting the band as a tough and witty contemporary country act, "Love Don't Live Here" immediately flew up the Billboard charts, making a mark at number three on the country charts.
Following the success of their first hit single, Lady Antebellum released their self-titled debut album in 2008. Lady Antebellum easily took the number one slot on the country charts upon its release, also spawning another charting single with "Lookin' for a Good Time," an edgy country tune that declares, "How 'bout baby we make a promise/To not promise anything more than one night/Complicated situations only get worse in the morning light/Hey I'm just lookin' for a good time." Lady Antebellum's most recently released single "I Run to You" is already making a run at the Billboard charts, and this spunky trio is taking its success one step further with a string of live performances.
