Sugarland Tickets - Making the Most of their Latest Lovin'
It may have just been a year ago that they were sitting on CMT's stage desperately promoting their latest set to the world of country music fans, but today the name Sugarland has become synonymous with country music, and fans across the globe are learning to sing along. After a Grammy win for the self-penned single "Stay," the duo are teaming up with Kenny Chesney for a 15 city jaunt before heading off on their own in April. The group started their first European tour this month, with gigs in 11 different European cities, displaying their American spirit with a few performances at US military bases and theater shows. The group continues to add more dates on their Love on the Inside Tour, which begins April 10th in Atlanta and finishes in October. Along with Kenny and Keith, Sugarland tickets are still raising the bar high as they settle for "nothing less than everything."
Just because the two are headlining their first European tour doesn't mean their slowing down, either, as they reported recently that they are also working on new material...something of a totally different nature than previous stuff. "We've written like six songs and none of them are country songs yet," guitarist Kristian Bush said. "It's growing, baby! It's growing. It's so good" Nettles continued with Billboard online. The first single reported in such an updated style is the 1985 Dream Academy's "Life in a Northern Town," which has earned them a nomination for an Academy of Country Music Award. The single, which also gives Jake Owen and Little Big Town a nomination, is an upbeat track that easily appeals to country fans and old school rockers. The newest single to embrace "Life in a Northern Town" beat is "It Happens," the one-hit wonder from Katrina & The Waves. "Anything '80s is alright with me," Nettles said to GAC online. "Sometimes when you just have one of those days where you wake up late and you walk into the office and you're all disheveled and you're doing the walk of shame," is a description Nettles gives the track. "You just have to let it roll off your back," she continued with GAC.
The group's eight month stint isn't just about promoting their latest effort, as the duo is one of the first country artists announced that will perform for the taping of George Strait - ACM Artist of the Decade. Along with Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw and more, MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will open up its doors following the Country Music Awards show in April.
Promoting Love on the Inside, their third platinum studio effort, Sugarland is getting live help via Eric Hutchinson, Jake Owen and Matt Nathanson. The duo (originally a trio) formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 2002 and exploded onto the pop country scene with their single "Baby Girl" and "Stand Back Up." Led by their debut, Twice the Speed of Life, the group followed up the multi-platinum selling hit with Enjoy the Ride, a two million seller than had the hits "Want to," "Settlin'" and "Stay," the last which recently earned them a Country Music Award for Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year as well as a Grammy Award for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The acclaim front woman Nettles earned for her work on "Stay" shelved any rumors that the abrupt departure by former member and prominent songwriter Kristen Hall would leave Sugarland struggling for words.
