Add Forgiveness to Your Daily Diet

How many times should we forgive? How many times have you beenforgiven? How many times did you want someone to forgive you? Should you forgive and not forget? Should you categorize forgiveness? Should you have respect of persons in your forgiving? Never mind the questions—Forgiving is essential. When we open ourselves to the highest inspirations—they never fail us. When we fail to do this we fail in attaining the highest results, whatever the undertaking. Good communication will help to avoid a lot of grievance issues with anyone that you might be holding a grudge. You are bound and that person is probably free—due to the fact that the person might not be aware of your issues against them. Any awareness of any biases can help you be open minded with all aspects of dealing with others. How glorious it is to know that you can forgive and forget a past offence that you have hid in your heart for a lengthy time. Remember the Hatfields and the McCoys?

“The Hatfield-McCoy feud (1878–1891) is an account of American lore that has become a metaphor for bitterly feuding rival parties in general. The first recorded instance of violence in the feud occurred after an 1873 dispute about the ownership of a hog: Floyd Hatfield had it and Randolph McCoy said it was his. But in truth, the dispute was over land or property lines and the ownership of that land. The pig was only in the fight because one family believed that since the pig was on their land, that
meant it was theirs; the other side objected. The matter was taken to the local Justice of the Peace, and the McCoys lost because of thetestimony of Bill Staton, a relative of both families. The individual presiding over the case was Anderson "Preacher Anse" Hatfield.

In June 1880, Staton Hatfield was killed by two McCoy brothers, Sam and Paris, who were later acquitted on the grounds of self-defense. But the court decided later that it was not self-defense; it was murder in the first degree.” (1)

Whatever estimate you put upon yourself will determine the effectiveness of your work along any line. As long as you live merely in the physical and the intellectual, you set limitations to yourself that will hold you as long as you so live. When, however, you come into the realization of your oneness with God who is Infinite Life and Power, and open yourself that it may work through you—you will find that you have entered upon an entirely new phase of life, and that an ever-increasing power will be yours. Then it will be true that your strength will be as the strength of ten because your heart is pure. Forgiveness will appear very easily.

The impaction of the combining forces of family life, the inner struggles, and our personal growth development will produce a remarkable journey toward our achievements, as we learn how to forgive. Everyday we face decisions, but they are in none comparison to the test and trials that will surface to the forefront after we reach success in learning how to forgive and forget the offences. We are not alone in this accomplishment. The starting time is now. Be sure to read the daily dose of inspiration to give you a boost.

Your Daily Dose of Inspiration 6-11-2008

The only way to keep the poison of resentment out of my blood is to forgive. I forgive, not only the challenges, circumstance and people that I intuitively know I should; but I also forgive myself at the same time. This act of self-forgiveness is fundamental to my happiness.
