Can You Really Overcome You Panic Attacks?

As a person that has had panic attacks since I was a child, I completely understand these people that don't think something like this will ever go away completely. It truly is a hard thing to deal with but there are a few ways that you really can overcome this menacing problem.

For those of you not familiar with panic or so-called anxiety attacks they are sudden periods of intense anxiety that bring along with it more anxiety, fear, stomach aches, discomfort, sweaty palms and various cognitive symptoms.

Usually these attacks are abrupt and can happen at any one time and may not even have an exact trigger. Although these episodes may appear random, they are a subset of an evolutionary response commonly referred to as fight or flight that occur out of context.

This response floods the body with hormones, particularly epinephrine (adrenaline), that aid it in defending against harm. For people that have never had a panic attack it's really easy for them to look at a person such as me and think that it's not a big deal or "all in the head". However, I personally wouldn't ever wish one of these attacks on anyone.

They are incredible uncomfortable experiences and you never really know what one is or how bad they are until you actually have one! The effects of a panic attack vary from person to person. Some, notably first-time sufferers, may call for emergency services. Many who experience a panic attack, mostly for the first time, fear they are having a heart attack or a nervous breakdown.

The most common symptoms may include trembling, dyspnea (shortness of breath), heart palpitations, chest pain (or chest tightness), hot flashes, cold flashes, burning sensations (particularly in the facial or neck area), sweating, nausea, dizziness (or slight vertigo), lightheadedness, hyperventilation, paresthesias (tingling sensations), sensations of choking or smothering, and derealization.

For the people that have panic attacks I am sure there are quite a few different treatments you have tried in the past, including but not limited to medications, paper bag breathing, yoga, meditation, diaphragm breathing, etc. On the other hand, if you have tried the above-mentioned treatments and they haven't worked for you, there may be another option for you.

When I was going through a few websites recently I found a few books on anxiety and panic attacks. These books can actually teach you how to regain control of your life. More specifically these books are actually ebooks that can be found online. They are incredibly helpful and have been proven as a way to help people go through something like this but also to make it finally go away.

Which is what we ALL want. They even have a free tips series by email that I found to be very insightful. This information does not rely on outdated anxiety techniques such as 'deep breathing', positive affirmations, or distraction. This technique is not NLP or hypnosis. It is an advanced cognitive technique born from traditional psychology that everyone can apply regardless of how long the anxiety has been present.

It takes seconds to implement wherever you are, -at home, at work or out socializing with friends which are where most people get their attacks to begin with - in the real world, outside of their comfort zone!

You really could get a hold on your life again, and you really could do all the things you are afraid to do now. Are you willing to chance it and be free? Or would you rather let this ailment have control over your forever? Change your life now, you owe it to yourself to at least try!
