Get This, a Lunar Eclipse Shows Me Six Lessons in Goal Success

Last night I watched a lunar eclipse from my garden under a Japanese maple tree. What a show. And I saw six lessons in goal success. There may have been more, but these six really stood out.

Here's the story with the six lessons.

The copper colored moon started to reveal a sliver of bright light as the Earth's shadow began to migrate from its full eclipse of the moon. As I watched the revealing sliver of bright light get larger, I couldn't help but think how we have our own moments of eclipse when we are working towards a goal. Problems, set-backs, obstacles are nothing more than "eclipse moments."

Lesson 1: They will pass.

But there's a whole lot more to this lunar eclipse lesson then knowing that problems and set-backs will pass.

At times, clouds would obscure the early changes of brightness of the moon. Now what do you suppose that could be? How about clouds of doubt. Clouds of worry. These clouds try to hide the real truth and belief that's within us. They come from a false inner-side of us. It's not the real, true inner belief we have. When my own feelings of doubt and worry cloud my view I just smile because I know full well that behind the clouds, a bright moon is emerging from an eclipse.

Lesson 2: Believe you are on course when doubts, worries, or second thoughts come drifting by. Believe the goal is already yours... because it really is.

When the Earth's shadow started to reveal the bright moonlight, it seemed to take a long time before the moon got noticeably larger. But after it was over the half-way mark the moon seemed to get noticeably larger a whole lot quicker. I could only think how true that is each time we begin our quest for a new goal.

Lesson 3: It takes an impressive amount of time and energy to get started and get going. But once you have momentum, you'll move faster and easier towards successfully reaching your goal...as long as you keep moving.

While the moon was getting larger and brighter with the passing of the Earth's shadow, clouds would pass over the moon. But this time, instead of me looking for the moon, the moon found me with its bigger and stronger brightness.

Lesson 4: No matter what problems, challenges, doubts, and worries you encounter along the way, the more focused and clear you are about what you want, the brighter and more clear your vision will be on seeing what needs to be done.

The black shadow of the Earth and the black sky seemed as one. It looked like some one had cut a slit in the night sky and was pushing a beautiful silver moon coin through the slit.

Lesson 5: You were born with a fantastic ability to use your imagination. Choosing to use your imagination to make reaching your goal an exciting, fulfilling journey helps keep you focused and motivated.

This whole experience would not be complete without the Japanese maple tree. I could move around and make the branches of the tree border around the emerging silver moon. Each view unique. Each view giving me a broader experience.

Lesson 6: Getting a different point of view from some one can really enhance what you need to do to get to your goal. And being able to take a break, step back, and see the big picture all adds to making that goal so clear and bright, you can almost reach out and touch it.

I hope these six lessons from a lunar eclipse make your eclipse moments pass quickly and, each goal you go after fills your pocket with a silver moon coin of success.
