Attila the Hun and The Fall of Rome

The Roman Empire lasted for more than one thousand years, and then many hundreds of years also, after the defeat and sacking of Rome in 452 AD. Although the leaders were all dead or fled, the ideals that were fine and good about Rome lingered on in an occasional monastery; Roman influence lived on. Barbarian gods exchanged for Christian Rome as Rome became the seat of spiritual governance of the evolving Catholic Church. Here in Rome the holy follower of Jesus chose the Vatican as the place to build the house of God, which was created gradually over the centuries.

Millions would appear here to hear the leader of the Christian Catholics and he would give and share blessings at particularly religious times such as Christmas and Easter. It would be the highest honor to work in any duty for the Catholic Church anywhere, and be called to serve at the Vatican in Rome. The Vatican became an independent state within the civic boundaries of Rome but separate and independent. Rome and the Vatican became the center of Christendom and is today to Catholics.

Although this was only achieved over centuries of persecution; Christian were actually fed to lions in gladiator matches.Disorder and lawlessness reigned over Rome during the buildup to the attack by the Huns. Rome has become sloppy and careless disorder and rowdy behavior was the rule of the day, pay off the police officer and you are on your way. Into such a corrupt environment rode Attila and his five hundred thousand man army, all sober and lean and keen for the booty they knew must be in Rome.

The Huns operated under a much more democratic system than did the Romans, who did what they were told. The Huns would encourage group discussions that would sooth over mis understandings and prepare better plans with new knowledge gained.And then most important was that they got to share the rewards and booty from any win in battle. As well Attila was gentle with those just conquered; in hopes they could become trusted allies. More often than not there was the tactic of gentleness amidst such strength.

Many of those whose lives had been spared by the wisdom and kindness of Attila became some of the more trusted and fierce warriors for the Huns. Attila was born around the year 400. By 405 war broke out between factions. Then in the year 405 AD, a serious crisis broke out between competing Germanic chieftains. A barbarian general named Radagaisius, with his own army plus the armies of Slavs and Germans attacked the Roman Empire.The Romans were saved by am attack by the Visigoths.

The Romans were well aware that the Visigoths were closer to plundering barbarian,.
