A UK Hotel For Every Occasion

With the shadows of the credit crunch following our every current move, families and happy couples are being forced to regrettably draw a black mark through their annual holidays abroad this year. However the silver lining is that there are still a bundle of locations perfect for vacation right here on our home turf in the UK. Whether you are looking for a romantic escape, family adventure or city break, there are plenty of fabulous UK hotels waiting to accommodate you on your next vacation.

With millions of UK hotels in hundreds of locations around the country, how do you know where to start when deciding where to lay your head while taking time out?

First thing you need to decide is the location you want to visit. Are you looking for a rural retreat or a city centre apartment? Do you want to be in the heart of the action or are you happy to be surrounded by the peace and quiet of the countryside? The UK has an impressive combination of both rolling hills and city buzz and once you have decided which suits your needs best, you can then decide on the type of accommodation to stay in.

Perhaps one of the greatest things about going on holiday in the UK is the variety of accommodation available. UK hotels vary from old country cottages with log fires, low ceilings and wide beams, to luxury city apartments with all the mod cons, to quaint and cosy bed and breakfasts and large chain hotels. Your choice is likely to depend on a number of factors, including the size of your party and how you plan on spending your vacation.

If you are a large family or group of friends you may wish to hire a holiday home, cottage or large apartment. Having your own accommodation allows you to be self sufficient, which means you can bring all your own food and cook your own meals and not have to worry about sticking to scheduled meal times as you do at hotels. Self catering accommodation usually comes with all the equipment you need including utensils, cutlery, tea towels and washing up liquid, linen and hairdryers. Some of the more expensive holiday homes will contain DVD players, CD players, internet access, plasma TV's, dishwashers, washing machine and tumble dryers and stylish contemporary decor. It's important to check out what is included in the price before you make you booking.

Holiday homes also allow you to bring extra equipment that you wouldn't necessarily be able to store at a hotel, such as bikes or canoes if you are embarking on an adventure holiday.

If however, you are looking for the perfect setting for a romantic break, you may wish to book yourself in to a bed and breakfast or boutique UK hotel, where you are able to request extras such as champagne on arrival, chocolates and flowers. Make sure you do your research to find a venue that caters for all your needs, such as roll top baths, four poster beds, log fires, health spas, mini-bars and stunning bedroom views. For example, if you are staying by the ocean, make sure you request an ocean view. Many offer little extras such as bath robes and exclusive cosmetics, cafeterias to make your morning coffee and even complementary organic breakfasts.

It's always worth mentioning when you make you booking if you are celebrating an occasion; you may get some of these extras thrown in to the price to help make your stay extra special.

Or perhaps you are simply looking to escape to the city for a weekend of shopping, theatre and tasty restaurant dining and are in need of a cosy city stay. Staying in UK hotels allows you all the convenience you need for a weekend break. With a comfy bed, a TV and kettle and fully equipped en-suite, all your needs are catered for.

Hotels are also a great choice if you have no requirement for your own cooking facilities and are simply planning on escaping the kitchen and sampling the local restaurants during your stay. UK hotels suit every bank balance, from budget to five stars. You choose how much you wish to spend and then simply make your choice out of the available hotels in your budget.

Whatever the occasion, once you know your budget, the location you wish to head to and the style of accommodation you wish to check in to, the rest is simple. Relax, unwind and enjoy your holiday at home this year in the UK hotel of your choice.
