San Diego Wedding DJ Prices
San Diego is a beautiful city with thousands of weddings each and every month. In this, you'll find an extremely competitive wedding industry, specifically the Wedding DJ's. If you have spent time at any of the bridal expos in Del Mar or the Convention Center you will see that there are more DJ's than any other type of vendor by almost two-fold. Why is this? Maybe because being an entertainer is a really fun and exciting way to make a living! These isn't so great however, if you are shopping for a DJ and you want to find someone that is perfect for your reception and ceremony. How much is too much to spend? How much is too little to spend? What do I really need out of a wedding DJ? These are all questions you might ask yourself when you think about Wedding DJ Prices in San Diego.
First and foremost, the inexpensive entertainment companies will offer you something around $500 and $700 for a complete four hour package. This is extremely cheap; bottom dollar. If a DJ is offering you their services for anything less than this than you probably want to look elsewhere. Not only is the price below average, but imagine all of the equipment to purchase and upkeep and not to mention occupying a Friday or Saturday wedding for only $500. Most DJ's charge higher prices to cover equipment costs and the fact they can typically only work one or two nights a week. It is important to be careful on who you hire at this price range as well.
Average priced to a medium priced DJ in San Diego county would range from $800 to $1000 for a four to five hour wedding package. Even at this price there might be some additional charges depending on what it is you want your package. Additional microphones, lighting or additional time are some things that might make the price escalate from here. Average priced DJ's are usually where shoppers put their trust. They have less expectation than if they were spending $1500 but at the same time they are not paying someone such a little amount, that they don't take their services seriously.
High priced DJ's range from $1100 to up. These are the seasoned DJ's who are either a part of the DJ association of San Diego and can get away with charging this amount based on referrals from wedding coordinators and wealthy clients, or people who just want to be certain that they are hiring the most experienced. While you are not necessarily buying a service that is any better than an average or even low priced service, there is something to be said about companies who regularly charge this much and still manage to acquire a lot of business. Higher priced companies will also often include a package deal where there aren't any additional costs for the extras in the package.
There are a lot of factors that would make a company decide which of the above mentioned categories to fall under. For the sake of the shopper lets hope that they are basing their pricing off of experience and equipment. I think the golden rule to finding the perfect entertainment for your dream wedding is to find the perfect fit. This means even though there are some really entertainment and upbeat DJ's or some really professional and smooth DJ's there isn't really a right or wrong answer. You should seek to find someone you get along with and someone who's style you would approve of.
