How To Host A Green Golf Tournament
There are tons of different ways that you can easily host a golf tournament that is friendly to the environment. When designing this tournament you should try and use products that are eco-friendly, think about recycling, choose an eco friendly meal, and try to go to the event in a green car.
Many people hold charity golfing events and if you are trying to tell people to be eco friendly you must be eco friendly yourself. This is why you must be extremely aware of which products you are buying. If the event that you are holding is just wasting products and energy then no one will listen to anything you have to say at the event.
Using products that are thought of as eco-friendly is perhaps the most important aspect that you need to remember when hosting a charity golf tournament. The types of products that are considered eco-friendly are products that are made of recycled plastics and papers. A good idea would be to have people at your event drink out of plastic reusable cups. Handing out water bottles at your event would not be a good idea because you will be wasting plastic. Some people may even consider telling guests to bring their own cups to drink out of.
The fastest and most efficient way to attract people to your charity golfing event is to advertise for your event as much as possible on the Internet. Advertising on your local news channel is great, but you will help get much more people by advertising over the Internet. The fact of the matter is that by putting an advertisement in your local newspaper you are wasting tons of money. The other amazing thing about the Internet is that you can get people in other parts of the country to donate to your event.
When picking out the course that you are going to use for your tournament you must pick a course that is eco-friendly. This means that they should use recycled products and that there should be recycling bins placed throughout the golf course. It is also good if the course recycles as much waste as possible that it is creating.
You do not want to contradict yourself by holding your eco-friendly event at a golf course that is not eco-friendly. This would discredit the event and may even result in people wanting to leave your event.
It is also important that you tell your guests to use a caddy instead of a golf cart. Golf carts release harmful carbon emissions and at an event like this you want to save as much petroleum as possible. This is why it is often a good idea to pack lightly when playing golf. Many people do not realize how much fun walking can be when playing golf.
Many people like to offer a prize to the winner of a charity golf tournament. Instead of offering cash or a trophy you could decide to give them a more eco-friendly prize. If you are having a large golf tournament a good idea may be to give them a hybrid car!
Another cute thing that you can do is to give up a prize for anyone that gives a whole in one. Many sponsors will give away cars if someone gets a hole in one, but it would be silly to give away a regular car. This is why you would need to give away an eco-friendly car such as a hybrid. Another option would be to give away an electric car. Either way, doing this will help you have an amazing green golf tournament!
