How To Keep The Luxury Standard In A Hotel

What angers me the most is when I am standing in standard class carriages of the train and a rather large person strolling into first class still has the audacity to complain about their armrest not being comfortable enough. Or worse the air conditioning on the economy class seating of a plane is not working, and yet you hear one person in first class complaining that their headrest feels too fluffy! One may wonder what stops me from inflicting physical violence on them for their inappropriate behaviour, however, common decency and decorum withholds these urges.

Recently when staying in a luxury hotel, where guests gain the best of the best in hotel services, there is someone complaining about something going wrong for them! I once overheard a couple by the Jacuzzi complaining that there were too many bubbles! However, the staff kept to their luxury service and tended to their every needs. To stop the blood in my veins from popping and bubbling over I have to keep telling myself that it is a wonderful world really and that there are good in people...somewhere!

Nonetheless my stay in the said luxury hotel got me thinking about what makes a luxury hotel so luxurious? How do they keep their luxury status and what does it take to keep this luxury hotel running for many prosperous years to come? The answer lies in the service that they provide, their accommodation facilities and what is included for the hefty price you must pay. The five-star hotels are not only great for the amount of money you throw at them, but they concentrate on the tiniest details such as comfort, entertainment, refreshment and of course staff commitment to providing you the best.

As one may think a luxury hotel is aimed at the rich and wealthy, this is true and also false. There are hotels of this calibre offered at competitive rates, introducing their facilities to a wider audience, marketing their name and bringing in more publicity for their benefit. The idea is not to make the hotels seem elitist but to uphold a reputation that everybody is welcomed. Unfortunately many of these hotels are not the same and some really do uphold a degree of elitism, making the experience furthermore distant from people unable to afford it.

However, on the rare occasion that I did get to stay in a high class hotel, I noticed that every member of staff were stood in a specific way, with a wide smile and appeared to be listening to your every word. There were no emotions, making them appear to be like robots! An important point to make is that the hotel is working hard to maintain its name and reputation; therefore the staff must adhere to the mission objectives. It makes all of the difference if one was to be greeted with open arms and is almost waited on hand and foot instantaneously.

Furthermore, the more money the hotel receives the more facilities they are able to buy. In other words luxury hotels are able to afford more equipment and can offer more to their guests such as a gymnasium, Michelin star restaurant dining area, high spec entertainment facilities, beauty and spa treatments and of course a swimming and Jacuzzi area. In particular you are always sure to have your own butler, who will deliver your suitcases to your room, which is pristine clean, equipped with expensive mini-bar snacks and fluffy bath towels.

A luxury hotel is not a luxury experience unless the word is presented and made visible with some added extras and surprises. It is most unfortunate that those who experience this type of luxury on a daily basis do not appreciate it as much as anyone else; however, those who cannot afford their own stay in luxury can always enjoy the next best thing that is jumping on any special deals. Advise to people looking for good deals, start searching now!
