Los Angeles and Area's 4 Most Romantic Weekend Ideas

The city of Los Angeles and surrounding area has a limitless number of things to do and see. If you are looking to have a romantic weekend, you won't be looking to experience the same old things. Instead, you will be searching for something that is sure to leave a lasting impression on him or her. Whether you a native resident of LA or just a weekend visitor passing through, these four places are some of my favorite spots in the Los Angeles area for a romantic weekend holiday.

See the Sights From the Water

There is no better way to see California at its best than from the waters of the stunning Pacific Ocean. Los Angeles has many faces to show visitors - from the exciting and extravagant shoreline to sights that emanate a feeling of peace and serenity. Marina del Rey is one of LA's hidden treasures secreted away in the ocean's coastline.

Abound with dreamy activities; Marina del Rey is the ideal location for a weekend getaway. For those looking to satisfy a sense of adventure or for those who enjoy sailing, sailboats can be rented by the hour. If you prefer to leave someone else in charge, weekend dinner dance cruises are sure to impress. The date starts with a relaxing ride on a lavish ship and a three-course dinner and ends with a romantic evening at one of the Marina del Ray Hotels.

Marina del Rey, a short drive from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is ideal for those spending a short weekend break in LA. For most, the thought of driving great distances to find a hotel room after a lengthy flight is very unappealing. On the other hand, the idea of staying too close to the airport while on a vacation doesn't seem very appealing either. Marina del Rey hotels and attractions are the perfect distance away from LAX; they are far enough to provide you with a welcoming and serene atmosphere, but close enough to eliminate the long drive back to the airport.

Take a Romantic Walk

One of LA's most romantic activities has to be a walk through the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade and Pier. A walk through the pedestrian-only mall, Third Street Promenade, is a fantastic spot for an afternoon date. The two of you can wander through the many restaurants, bars and shops watching the many street performers along the way.

When you are relaxed and looking for a fun activity, head over to the Pier, a stones throw away from the Promenade. The amusement park, legendary boardwalk, and Ferris wheel line the shoreline, but that isn't all. The "Twilight Dance Series" is held on Thursday nights right through the summer season. The series highlights some of the biggest names to hit the musical stage in every possible genre.

If you are looking to do something different after an evening on the Pacific coast, Santa Monica is very close to Marina del Ray hotels. To avoid the frenzied traffic on Los Angeles' freeways, the side roads easily connect you to the Marina del Rey hotels beach area.

Moving Music and Delightful Dance

Simply arranging to leave LA later in the afternoon can open new and interesting opportunities. If you leave for LAX a little earlier, be sure to stop at Fisherman's village for a delicious lunch. The Fisherman's village is a beachside restaurant offering live Blues, Pop, R&B, and Latin music to enjoy with your meal. Some Marina del Rey hotels are close enough to allow you to take a relaxing walk down the beach to the restaurant rather than using the 2-hour free parking validation.

In order to enjoy the best of downtown Los Angeles area while avoiding the jumble of congested freeways, you simply need to know how to get around in the LA area. Whether you are a seasoned LA native or simply on a weekend vacation, Marina del Rey hotels, Venice Beach and Santa Monica are a convenient distance away while still giving the ambiance and scenes of a romantic weekend vacation.
