Did You Ever Wonder What Goes Through Your Backyard At Night?
Did you ever wonder what goes through your backyard at night? Do you live near the woods and wonder what creatures lurk there at night? You can find out with night vision goggles. This is an extremely fun way for children and adults to examine what lurks in their backyard.
Many people who use night vision goggles are having fun exploring many different things at night. In a backyard you can fine everything from furry creatures to bugs and rodents that do not come out at any other time. Children should probably be supervised depending on their age when they are around certain types of creatures, but just the idea of being able to do this will thrill children.
There are many uses for night vision devices that include the backyard safari. You could devise certain activities for your kids to keep them busy when they are underfoot. Just before dusk you could make a list of creatures that they might find in the backyard and have them do a scavenger hunt to see if they can find them.
Another good idea for the backyard adventure is to have sleep overs and give each of the kids, night vision goggles. This can enhance any kids sleep over, and eventually you can get them to sleep!
Kids also love the effect because they think it's like being the Terminator or something. It has a wonderful green tint to it and they also remind you of the Borgs on Star Trek. This is a great way to get kids interested in nature and have them exploring for hours.
Night vision goggles project infra-red light, because humans cannot discern this type of light in the dark. It illuminates the area and allows you to see what is in front of you. Depending on the goggles, you could see anywhere from 50 to 200 feet in front of you. Usually there are two levels of brightness that work together on both sides of the goggles so that you can get a clear picture.
You also have a camera mounted in the goggles so that you get a monocular vision in some when you are looking through the screen. Some people wonder whether you can use night vision goggles with eyeglasses and in most cases you can, although reading glasses do not work as well inside the goggles.
What many people may not know is that you can see in sunlit rooms as well as at night. This creates a kind of interesting effect as you go through the house.
In our backyard we have had occasional skunks, foxes and raccoons coming through the yard. We have heard the chattering from the raccoons and the noises from the foxes, but we couldnt always identify which was which. Now we can see exactly who is coming through at any given time.
Some of the kids like the night vision monocular because they can pretend to be pirates in the backyard. Others like to use binoculars because they can get a better sense of the world around them because they are not limited by wearing the goggles on their head.
There are many adventures and games that you can play with your children inside or outside, with night vision devices because they enjoy wearing them so much. You have to be careful though because they do lend themselves to practical jokes in the hands of children. They allow them to play ninja games and sneak up behind people when they are not watching. This can be a little unnerving in the dark.
Backyard adventures become more fun when you can show your kids how to use something easy to explore. They are totally engaged in the use of night vision goggles which was something interesting when we first got them for the kids. We thought they would tire of using them, and they haven't yet. There is always something new and different to look for in the dark because it is an ever changing environment.
