A List Of Effective Striped Bass Baits

The striped bass is a well-known species that is sought after by many anglers of all ages and skill levels. They have a sleek silvery body with dark stripes that start behind their gills and end at the base of their tail.

Similar to most species they have a white belly but the striped bass has two very distinctive tooth patches that are located on the backside of the tongue.

They are also distinguished by their two sharp points located on each gill cover and the second spine is half the length of the third spine. It is believed that the striped bass can live up to thirty years.

One of the largest recorded striped bass ever caught weighed in at one hundred and twenty five pounds. You can see why they are one of the most popular species around.

When seeking out the striped bass you must be ready for the challenge you will encounter. They do put up a struggle and will fight hard when they are being reeled in.

You should be prepared for this mentally so you are not surprised and you should have the right equipment to make sure you don't lose your catch. It can be very disappointing to have a good size striped bass on the end of your line only to have the line break or the rod to snap into.
