Cleveland Browns Tickets: Readying a Charge in 2009
Every pro football team likes to claim the most adoration by their fans but the Cleveland Browns certainly must be at the head of the list. This team has some internet postings of Browns Backers displaying a team poster in Antarctica while smiling through what must surely be some frozen teeth. With support like this, you can understand why fans begin to order the best Cleveland Browns tickets early in the year. Regardless of the weather, this football team knows that the stands will be exploding with the cheers and enthusiasm of near capacity crowds who are there to see their American Football Idols take on all comers.
An Unbelievable Beginning
It all began 64 years ago with a man named Arthur McBride and a 1944 granting of a franchise belonging to the All America Football Conference. This league played their first game in 1946 with Paul Brown as the coach. Cleveland dominated all competition and claimed four AAFC crowns in as many years. The team had a combined record of 52 wins, 4 losses, and 3 ties over this same four-year period. The league packed up and closed down at this time, and many sports historians state the overwhelming power of Cleveland as the main reason. The NFL admitted the Browns, 49ers and Colts to their ranks when the AAFC folded but many of the experts did not expect the Cleveland based organization to be able to play with the "real footballers".
The very next year, the Bouncing Browns of Cleveland Town shocked Philadelphia by routing them with a score of 35-10. The sports world was just as surprised because the Eagles were at that time the reigning NFL champs. Cleveland proved they would not be intimidated and took the NFL Eastern Conference title in 1950, 51, 52, 53, 54, and 55. They also won the NFL title 3 of those years (50, 54, and 55). In 1957, fans coveted any chance to buy Cleveland Browns tickets because the team, with running back Jim Brown, was once more at the top and another division title was added to the long list of team honors.
Fans Come to the Rescue
The Browns were bought for $4 million dollars by Arthur Modell, in 1961, who was known to be a mover and shaker in the sports world. In 1964, the last NFL title was won by the Browns with a score of 27-0 against Baltimore. When Modell made an announcement that he was moving the team in 1995, the fans and officials of the city responded fast and furiously. They were able to stop that plan from taking place, and they agreed to build a new football stadium and bring back their beloved team by 1999. The franchise had a short suspension from 1995 until 1999 at which time the team was welcomed back with open arms to the Cleveland Browns Stadium.
Browns Fans Anticipating Rivalry Clash
Fans have already put the 2008 season away and are focusing on the upcoming 2009 months. One of the big draws that is destined to generate huge requests for Cleveland Browns tickets is the anticipated rivalry match up with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The chance to see the Browns beat the reigning Super Bowl champs is going to be one of the biggest games of the season. With hype and interest already being shown this drama is destined to unfold in front of a sellout crowd.
