Best Bangkok Districts For Business Trips

Thailand as a place of international business is growing by the day. It is the main stopover for trans-Atlantic and other world flights, the local economy means business hotels in Bangkok, corporate meetings in Bangkok, dining, and other necessities are much cheaper than in the West.

Above all, it is the land of smiles, bringing a constructive, agreeable atmosphere to all of your business dealings and corporate meetings in Bangkok! However, there are so many districts to choose from, some perfect for business, and some much less suitable. We look at the best Bangkok districts for your next business trip to Thailand.

Sukhumvit Road is the longest road in Bangkok, stretching all the way out of the city to the rural areas. The Bangkok part of Sukhumvit Road, though, is a very cosmopolitan choice for corporate meetings in Bangkok.

Sukhumvit has one of the more international atmospheres of all of the Bangkok districts, with plenty of European and Western cuisine alongside the Thai traditionals, and there is also plenty of luxurious accommodation, for the dollar price.

If you're looking for Sukhumvit accommodation, look first at Chateau de Bangkok. The French-themed Bangkok hotel has a definite wash of European class, with sleek, neat furnishings, room to stretch out and gather your thoughts between meetings.

For those whose palate tends to the plain rather than the Thai love of spice, there is a rich, stomach-stretching Italian restaurant, Paparazzi, as well as an international restaurant, Panorama. This is a great place to hold informal corporate meetings in Bangkok with either locals or other international visitors, as there really is something for everyone on the menu.

You can hold your business meetings in the most convenient of locations - right in the hotel - when you stay at Sukhumvit accommodation like Chateau de Bangkok. They have a choice of executive lounge or business lounge, with projectors and screens, executive seating and catering available.

If you prefer, you could even do business under the relaxing, stimulating hands of this Bangkok hotel's massage therapists - a wonderful alternative business idea. Another Sukhumvit hotel with excellent business facilities is the Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel, which is tucked away from the traffic of Sukhumvit road itself, and is a luxury hotel near BTS (the Skytrain).

Rooms are generously sized, giving the Bangkok hotel a homey feel and a wonderful relaxed atmosphere for either working, or meeting associates.
SIlom is another great Bangkok district for business trips.

It is now known as Thaland's equivalent to New York's Wall Street, being one of the country's most important financial districts. Silom has connections to MRT and there are plenty of luxury hotels near the BTS station here, if you need to connect to another district.

Try SIlom where longer term Bangkok accommodation is required, in a luxury Bangkok hotel like Siri Sathorn or Siam Heritage serviced apartments.

Ratchadapisek is another district which is just as good for corporate meetings in Bangkok, but much less considered by business visitors. A definite modern area of Thailand, but without some of the hustle and bustle of the more inner city areas, there are plenty of serviced apartments in this area of Bangkok - perfect for extended business visits.

They tend to be better value for money than other Bangkok hotels, where you are paying for the location as much as the services. If you like to do business over a drink that's a little headier than Perrier, Ratchadapisek also has a great nightlife scene, with Thai cabaret as well as Western style pubs and clubs.
