Arkansas, USA, Is A Great Holiday Location
Lake Fort Smith State Park offers one of Arkansas's one most scenic landscapes and scenery. It is settled in Ozark Valley right next to a National Forest, with back packing and other facilities for hikers. The 178 mile Ozark Highland trail starts from here.
During spring and rainy season, the rivulet formed in the valley, falls into Lake Fort Smith Dam, which makes it a beautiful place for any Nature Lover. Facilities include picnic sites, a standard pavilion, Olympic size swimming pool, a launch and eight fully furnished cabins with kitchens. A tourist can rent a Canoe, Motor and fishing Boats too.
In its natural beauty at Petit Jean State Park, the lodges here will certainly take your breath away. The rustic style mingles with modern conveniences, facilities of log and stone structures present an artistic view.
The Mather Lodge here hugs the bluff of an impressive Canyon. The Canyon presents an excellent waterfall and upstream there is Lake Bailey. With its area of 170 acres it offers you fishing and pedal boating. Trails lead you along Canyons, Forests, Mountains and Meadows. Many amenities are available here and especially at the Museum of Automobiles, showcasing Classic and antique Cars.
Seasonal Arkansas Hunting offers liberty for gaming White-tailed Deer. Also Seasons are set for archery, modern gun shooting and muzzleloaders may be used. Wild turkey and small game are in large numbers along the Mississippi Flyway in the Eastern side of this region.
Atop a narrow arc lies Crowley's Ridge State Park. Cozy log and stone structures set the mood for the Park's rustic warmth. It offers fully furnished cabins with kitchens, snack bars, trails, picnic areas, baseball field, standard pavilion, fishing in 30 acre Lake and a swimming Lake.
In Ouachita Foothills, you will find a winning combination of Daisy State Park, Lake Greeson and the little Missoury River. 7,000 acres of clear water of Greeson Lake have catfish, white bass, stripers, crappie and bluegill which makes it a must visit for anglers.
Daisy State Park is the base camp for all outdoor activities and it offers facilities like camp sites, tent sites, hiking trails, launch ramps, a standard pavilion, playground and a motorcycle mountain bike trail.
Most of the tourists enjoy camping here at the lakeshore and go hunting for diamonds which is just 23 miles down southwards.
For Nature Lovers and anglers White Oak Lake State Park is like reaching heaven. In this timber filled Park a large variety of animals and birds like great blue heron, osprey, egret and green heron are found and bald eagles come out in Winter. The visitor center includes exhibits and a CD interactive program.
Other facilities that are provided at campsites are a store offering supplies, bait and gifts, barrier free fishing equipments, launch ramp, picnic sites, playground, a standard pavilion, beach and swimming areas.
Settled in a peaceful and beautiful foothill of Ozark Mountains, is the best place for fishing, boating and swimming in central Arkansas. Motors, fishing boats, canoes and pedal boats can be rented here.
A snack bar and hot shower bath house are located near the swimming beach. It also offers some premium sites like picnic sites, a pavilion, fishing areas where you have to bring your own fishing equipments, gift shop and a trail encircle the Lake. Woolly cabins, represent the home of the first settlers and show the historical heritage which is also here.
