Everest Trekking
Everest trekking is the most popular trekking among the trekkers, as there are spectacular mountain peaks. The Everest region is located in the north-east of Nepal. Everest trek is not only a famous destination for tourists in Nepal for its scenic views of the highest peak of the world, the Mt. Everest [8,848m] along with other peaks, but also well known for the loyalty and friendliness of its inhabitants [The Sherpas].
The primary goal of Everest trekking is to reach in Mt. Everest base camp [5,340 m], whereas it is not possible to view the Mt. Everest from the camp, therefore many trekkers climb up to Kalapatthar [5,545 m from sea level], but many tourist fall an acute high altitude sickness, therefore the trekking in Everest region is the most challenging treks in Nepal. While many of the routes through the mountains are arduous, there are ample places to rest and enjoy a meal along the way.
If your physical fitness does not suit, you can have other adventurous activities along the Everest region. You can have a look on the indigenous culture of Sherpa villages, take snaps of monasteries that are over thousand years old, you either can choose to have short treks in along the Namche Bazaar, beautiful Khumjung village and Thame, and famous Tyangboche [a famous monastery], from where you can easily can have snaps of Mt. Everest, adjoining Himalayas namely Ama Dablam, Nupse, Lotse etc.
The trekking is possible in this area the whole year round, the best times to visit are from the beginning of March to mid May and from the beginning of September to mid November. Here are the details of itineraries you can choose, as per your time, desire and physical fitness.
Jiri Everest Trek
Jiri - Everest trekking is the most famous trekking route among the tourists of world.
When we go for trekking this route, we begin our trekking from Jiri [a market and gateway of Mt. Everest] and, after a few days of trek, we reach at Solu district, where the Mt. Everest is located. Otherwise, we also can have direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. Lukla is a residence of Sherpas and home of Buddhist monasteries, passing through this Sherpa villages and monasteries; we reach at Gokyo, Gokyo Ri, Kalla Pattar, from the place you can have an outstanding views of Everest along with Nuptse and Lhotse and finally, we return back to Lukla airport and we catch our plane to fly back to Kathmandu.
Everest Base Camp Trek
Everest base camp trekking is a famous and challenging trek in Khumbu Nepal. The trek is famous for its spectacular mountain peaks and friendliness of its inhabitants (Sherpa). The Everest region (Khumbu) is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Nepal. While many of the routes through the mountains are difficult, there are ample places to rest and enjoy a meal along the way. The trekking is possible in this area, the whole year around, but the best times to visit are from the beginning of March to mid May and from the beginning of September to mid November.
The trekking to base camp begins early morning, by flight from Kathmandu to the mountain airstrip to Lukla, the heart of Everest Region, then around three hours walk we reach at Phakding and then we continue north up to Dudh Kosi valley and to Namche bazaar, there we spend a day for acclimatization. Next day, we continue our trekking to Kala Pattar and subsequently to Everest base camp; we have one day rest in Dingboche or Pheriche in between and for some side trips and further acclimatization. We have some magnificent views of Everest along with Nuptse, Lohtse and Mount Pumori and we return back to Lukla and catch our flight to Kathmandu.
