Fort Scott National Historic Site exhibits US history and depicts the period when the masses were expanding westwards and civil unrest and the civil war later followed them.
The architecture in Kansas can often be French colonial and with Greek revival elements thrown in. The building had to be reconstructed to take it back to its 1840 style look.
One of the best tourist attractions in the state of Kansas is Sedgewick County Zoo, opened in 1971 on 247 acres.

Fort Larned National Historic Site was originally built in 1859. It was a base for the military against hostile local Indians in the central plains.

Lots of modern space related rockets and shuttles are on display at Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center. The world's fastest plane in its time, SR 71 Black Bird spy plane, is also located here.
It has a German room featuring rare V1 and V2 rockets from the Nazi Germany era.
This beautiful Flint Hills park, El Dorado State Park, the most popular state park in Kansas lies some miles northeast of Wichita. It has a unique and different accommodation facility for its guests in its green and watery area.

It offers different species in many natural habitats, and it especially interesting for fishermen and hard for them to resist coming here.

Standing on sandstone bluffs, Kannapolis State Park is divided by a dam and Horsethief Canyon which provides 26 miles of trails for hiking, cycling and horse riding.
It has one of the best state's natural beauty and lots of wildlife areas.
Fall River State Park is settled between cross-timbered Chautauqua Hills on the eastern side and the grasslands of Flint Hills to the west, making it a very picturesque site. Campsites are provided in woodlands and you can rent a canoe and float along the river watching wildlife.
At Perry State Park you will find lots of forestland in the northeast of Kansas, providing bird watching and hunting of various kinds.
You can just camp or make it a base for exploring the local wildlife.
Webster State Park is saddled on the Solomon River Valley and it is between its north and south shores. With all the usual provisions provided it is paradise for fishermen and its location makes it a great sight.
Located just a few miles away from Kansas University, Clinton State Park is a place where all campers and boaters get whatever they could wish for.
Pomona State Park is a place where you can relax in the green woodlands and get educational programs in summer.
Glen Elder State Park is a mixture of fishing facilities and the historic touch featuring the Hopewell Church in 1994 and further improvements are in line too.
Away from the city bustle, Hills Dale is in the midst of hardwood forests. Although it is a new state park it provides all modern amenities.
Eisenhower State Park lies on the edge of Melvern Reservoir, which offers plenty of opportunities for boating and fishing.
Hunting is allowed except in the waterfowl refuge, from where you can watch the teaming wildlife. During summer lots of entertainment and educational programs take place.
So there you are Kansas is a wonderful tourist venue.
