Do Not Pass Out On Barcelona's Night Life
There are two zones which are the most remarkable in terms of night Clubs, and where the most alternative and autochthonous people is found. The first one is the Gracia Quartier, a much politicized sector which is located in the high part of the city. The other one is the Pueblo Nuevo Quartier, which has a younger public and counts on some of the biggest night clubs in the city, the latter is located in the former Industrial Zone of Barcelona to the north of the Olympic Zone. The sectors with the most selected people are in Sant Gervasi y Tibiado .
Different from the club culture, you can find other places, whose main zone is the Casco Antiguo, divided between El arrival Quartier and the Gothic Quartier, next to Ramblas. In such nice places you will live the diversity, since the party is integrated by Tourists from all around the world, resident foreigners and a minority of locals, an advantage that only a cosmopolitan city like Barcelona can offer.
MAREMAGNUM
Let's start by saying that it is the biggest Barcelonan mall, a versatile place which gets transformed at nights, so, in the day it is ideal for having a walk through the wooden path that starts in Ramblas, and when the dusk appears, night clubs take place, it is necessary to say that Maremagnum is made up by half shops and half clubs. There is what you want, from techno to Irish pubs and salsa, the party ends up very late. If you want to have a lot fun go there, however the prices are kind of high.
LEIXAMPLE
Eixample is next to the city center. Lots of awesome bars and clubs, yet they are spread around somewhat, specially on the western side. It is a gay sector.
BARRI GOTIC AND LAS RAMBLAS
In the gothic sector you have a central location and the medieval Spain Atmosphere, it is plenty of bars, pubs and clubs and the diversity of people is great, a lot of foreign students and tourists. The quality of the places has a broad range; you find what you want regarding prices and kind of party, from relaxing jazz to crazy wild techno clubs.
PORT OLYMPIC
Here there is a chain of clubs in the Olympic yachting marina, it is a waterfront place same as Maremagnum, very nice and ideal for groups as none of the clubs or bars located in this area have a cover charge, but the drinks are a little costly to balance. This sort of places is much better in the summer especially in those clubs that have open spaces.
Some other important information you should know if you want to go party to Barcelona is that bars and clubs are usually open till 3 am, but some ones which have a special license can operate till 5 am, so you will have party up to dawn.
You need to be aware of getting into local hang outs, which are not appropriated for foreigners, since, there you find people (Spaniards) who are going to look at you funny.
