The Other Side Of Brazil
If you're looking for a holiday with a difference, why not try a Brazil tour? For UK residents, Brazil is a long way to travel so if you're going to do it, make it a good one, take a tour and see all the best places in one trip.
Of course, there are the typical places that people want to see, such as Rio de Janeiro, but why take the well walked path of all other holiday makers? Why not make the trip your own? Conduct a little research into the country and decide for yourself what it is that you want to see exactly. Do you favour wildlife or night life, country scenery or culture and architecture? This country has part of all these aspects to offer tourists so take your pick or jumble them up for a taste of everything Brazilian.
Here is one suggestion of where to go on a Brazil tour that would make it an entirely unique trip to you:
Start off by getting a flight into Rio or Sao Paulo and travel south to Bluemanau. This is where you will see stunning architecture of German orientation. Half timbered buildings line the clean streets of Bluemanau with restaurants, lodging and shopping that all have German influences. If beer is your thing then this is the best place to be for the Oktoberfest which will see half a million visitors downing 100,000 gallons of beer over the three week period.
Then move on to Cuiaba, north of Bleumanau. This is a virtual paradise for animal lovers with no less than 650 species of birds, 230 types of fish, 80 species of mammals, 50 types of reptiles and countless insects.
These species originate with the unique conditions that make this the perfect breeding ground for these varieties of animals to thrive. Summer rains flood the rivers creating ideal conditions for the fish and the exceptional flora and fauna that grow in this area.
This uniqueness itself then creates a new part to the food chain that sees other mammals and birds gathering to feed on these fish and vegetation. With the flat terrain and sparse foliage, this is a perfect photo opportunity for animal lovers.
For another must see on your Brazil tour, visit Abadiania, east of Cuiaba. This area of Brazil has a totally different attraction to all others. This is home to Joao Teixeira de Faria, one of the most famous healers across the country. Patients diagnosed with terminal illnesses around the world flock to him for his spiritual healing powers. Not the most upbeat of reasons to visit this area of Brazil but an attraction nonetheless.
If you do find yourself fortunate enough to be on a Brazil tour, do not leave without a trip to Aquiraz. Now, this is my idea of paradise! Sand dunes the size of small mountains for sand boarding down - now I've done sand boarding and believe me it is the most amazing fun you can have on a surfboard without getting wet!
If exotic palms and miles and miles of white sandy beaches are your idea of relaxation, then this is the place to be. For that little bit of man-made fun there are also some of the world's best swimming pool complexes with mazes of water slides that defy the imagination.
Whatever your taste, whether it be a holiday of sun, sea and relaxation or a true culture buzz, a trip round Brazil has to be worth thinking about!
