How To Bag A Man In Uniform

The dating game is a precarious one these days. There is no uniform way of dealing with this obstacle to lasting happiness and anybody newly single will attest to the fact that it is a veritable meat market out there. Clubs and pubs can be difficult places to meet people given the noise levels as this makes conversation impossible and I can speak from personal experience that most men who try to come onto you in one of those places is certainly not interested in getting to know your brain but more likely getting into your underwear - and not while you're out shopping!

So, for those out of the teenage field how do you meet new prospective partners? Work relationships become very complicated and most people are spoken for or are carrying baggage too heavy to work into a new relationship. So that leaves us with speed dating, personal ads and the frowned upon internet dating.

Speed dating is a good evening out that has taken off recently and the advantage to this is that you can be grouped by age so you're not going to be stuck chatting to someone just out of school. It also means that if you don't like the person you are talking to you get to move on after a minute or two. The possible rejection of not being matched with anyone at the end of the night is short lived as you will probably never see these people again anyway. Speed dating is a very good way to find out how good your instincts are when it comes to first impressions.

Personal ads are full of pitfalls. First, you have to know the lingo and then you realise that those that do know the lingo have obviously been doing it for some time so what is wrong with them? You will also be mightily concerned about those adverts that state they are looking for a domineering woman who can boss them around or the man who claims to have a good sense of humour (and boy are you going to need one too when you realise he wants you to send a photo of yourself dressed in rubber!)

Moving swiftly on, we come to the sensitive area of internet dating. This has its good points and bad. Firstly, you get people that post photos of themselves ten years younger and two stone lighter but these are soon wheedled out, even if it takes as much as a first date. It also has its fair share of meat market shoppers. However, given the fact that they are relatively anonymous, it does mean they are quite upfront about what they are looking for and again can quite quickly be discarded.

Internet dating was seen as a bit of a nerdy thing to do when it first started out. It was seen as the domain of saddos who were unable to get themselves a date by conventional methods. However, in this day and age when life is so insanely busy, who has time for conventional dating? At least with on line dating you can state your needs and wants and get all the initial niceties out of the way early on. There is no age limit on these sites and there are even sites that are specifically set up for those with certain requirements.

There are a few dating sites that only list people who are at least solvent and at best millionaires. There are also on line dating sites for those who like someone in uniform (that'll be me, then!) Here we have a place for those in the services that wear uniforms that find it difficult to find love as they are away serving their country so much. They are looking for a relationship with a person that could understand that issue but are still willing to give it a go.

And then there are people like me who just love a man in uniform. Believe me, when you get to forty and find yourself single once again you realise there is no point in wasting time and you may as well go straight for a little of what you fancy. An on line dating site that caters specifically for those in uniform or looking for the one in uniform is a great idea and I would like to shake the hand of the person that made it possible. If nothing else, simply looking is fun.
