Does Marriage Hold any Significance in the Present Context
I have married five times and on the verge of my fifth divorce. When I look back on my life I really tend to think, does marriage hold any significance in my life? Probably not. For me now asking for divorce comes too easy. Guess practice makes
man perfect. The maximum duration I can stay with a single woman is around a year. Beyond that, life starts to looks sulky and I think I need something new. May be a new challenge in the form of a new lady. And it's not me alone, I find this in my females as well. After a span of nearly one year or so, I find my partner starting to loose interest in me, just like I loose interest in her. She starts using the internet a lot and going out much more often, may be to find out that special someone who can care for her and help her out of this stagnant relationship. So why does this happen? Why has being married for all your life become so difficult?
Human Beings Have Become More Demanding
The current human has more demands. These demands have been brought about by the level of information he has got access to.
This information which comes to him/her through, TV, magazines and the internet is telling him/her that life is more than a single partner. Everyday they read about divorces, they read about success stories of divorced people. They see examples of other people living extraordinary lives. This definitely tells them that they need more too.
Easy outlets for finding a new partner
The internet has come as an easy outlet for finding new partners. There is voice chat, there is video chat and then there is a huge range of social networks like orkut, myspace, hifi, bebo etc. all making things real easy for people to look for another partner. And with so many options available, why wouldn't anyone think of a divorce more than once?
Not having kids attitude
People know deep within that their marriage is not going to last long. So they restrain themselves from having kids atleast for a year or so and then they separate. Not having kids makes the separation all the more easier.
So given all this, does marriage hold any significance at all? isn't a livein relationship a better option? It is in all ways a better option. Couples who are not averse to liveins can always test the waters before making their decisions. So think about it before you leap into a marriage. Marriage is good, but it is best when done at leisure.
