Bridal Shower Favors: Giveaway Ideas For Your Closest Friends
I saw a movie themed around the idea of a bridal shower once. I cannot remember exactly how the plot went, but I do remember certain scenes. A scene I remember clearly centered around a group of women laughing, drinking champagne, having fun while embarking on stories of the married life to the woman who is supposedly about to get married. And, in a way, that is exactly how I picture bridal shower; the one where the bride-to-be is surprised by her friends and given gifts, and one where they have fun for hours.
The bridal shower is supposedly held to mark the last days of the singleness of the woman who is about to get married. The bridal shower is usually a relatively small group of the brides closest friends, which is typically an all-women group. It has been a popular practice for a woman about to be married to hold a bridal shower, as a way of getting in touch with all of her closest girlfriends before she focuses on married life and eventually, family life. Her friends give her gifts, from jewelry to the sexy lingerie. And she, in turn, gives out bridal shower favors after the party.
For as long as I can remember, giveaways and party favors have always been part of our social gatherings from something as big as a wedding to as simple as a birthday party. Depending on the nature of the party, these favors are usually handed out as prizes if there are games or as memorabilia to let the guests keep something that will make them remember the party event. In the case of the bridal shower, there are also giveaways. The bride hands out bridal shower favors as way of expressing her gratitude to the friendship given to her by the people in it and as a way to hand out souvenirs that will mark the few days before she changes her last name. These favors can also serve as prizes for whatever games that the bride would choose to have for her shower.
There are a lot of bridal shower favors that you can choose from to purchase. Sometimes, the bride gives out a different giveaway for each of her friends in the bridal shower. This is because she knows each person enough to select what that person might want to receive. However, there are also a lot of cases where the bride hands out one particular giveaway for all, especially when the giveaways will serve as prizes for a game. To know what kind of bridal shower favor to select that all would appreciate, here are some ideas.
Theme-oriented.
If your bridal shower party has a theme, then you can choose bridal shower favors that would go around that theme. Remember that your giveaways should have a factor that would serve as your friends souvenir for the event. If you have a theme for your party, then a theme-oriented giveaway would be a perfect way to do it.
Personalized.
If there is one thing that your friends will sure treasure, it is that thing that you make yourself or add a personal touch to. If your bridal shower consists only of the girlfriends that you have shared a bond with over the years, it would be nice to consider handing out photo albums that would hold all your pictures with them. It is also good to consider friendship bracelets, friendship rings or other such friendship memorabilia.
Your bridal shower party is a symbolic party; make sure you also hand out symbolic bridal shower favors.
