How To Save Money On Your Wedding So You Don't Go Broke
Congratulations on your wedding to be! I am sure you have many things you've dreamt about doing on your magical wedding day. Unfortunately, you have to deal with a budget, many men and women are having to deal with this situation, especially during these tough times. But there's nothing to fear, you can still have your dream wedding and eat your cake too! Here are a suggestions on where you can trim down your wedding costs.
- Make a list of priorities! Cross off what you want to first leave what you will really need. Later you can add some of those things you want and you can afford it. Do you really need to invite five hundred people? Get the a lot of beautiful flowers? Having the wedding in a specific locale? What about serving really expensive food? All these things are fine, but know what you need versus what you simply want.
- Time to cut some people out. I understand this can be hard, but you have to do it cause every person will cost you a certain amount. And taking some names off the list can save you quite a bit of money. First take off the names of the people who would feel like they would have to come if they are invited, yet wouldn't be offended if they weren't sent an invite. Focus on family that you are close to and not all your extended family. Basically break it down to who are most important to you in your life.
- Trim down the people in your wedding party. That means try not to have too many bridesmaids and too many groomsmen, cause they will all bring dates, plus it's a tradition that you invite them all to the rehearsal dinner which will be costly to feed everyone. Also it is expected of the bride to give fairly decent gifts to all the girls in the bridal party, so keep that in mind. It could add up quite a bit.
-Think about having your the ceremony and the reception dinner in a hotel, this way you can request a discount for all your guests who are going to stay at that hotel. Make a reservation months in advance for a group of rooms for your friends and family before the ceremony to get the most out of the discounts and rates charged. Ask for the specific person in charge when making reservations so they will have the power to make these decisions and help you.
-See if any of your friends with some craft ability and talent will be willing to give a hand in handling making invitations, arranging flowers. Get someone with good handwriting to write all the addresses for the invites and not send it out to a professional. Having simple but pretty flower arrangements could save you tons of money. Sometimes the wedding programs that are crafted by hand are even better than professional ones because of the simplified, personal touch applied to them.
I hope this has sparked the creativity in your mind to come up with your own varying solutions. There's no one way to do things. All you can do is make yourself happy, cause this is your day and it should be something to look back on and have happy memories of this day and not regret. And certainly not regret having spent too much money.
