The wedding day is a very special day that requires a lot of planning, may it be grand or simple. Many may want their wedding day to be grand, but if the budget does not allow it, the simple one can be every bit as special. Budget is the one thing that wedding plans and preparations rely on. Most couples set a budget for the arrangements, and work only according to it. When you are working with a budget and sky is the limit, you would of course have to carefully map out the things that you spend with it. You would not want to wake up just days before the wedding and get confronted with of any wedding aspects that are lacking.

There are a lot of things in the wedding that need to be planned for; one of these are the wedding favors. They are the ones given away to the guests after the wedding both as tokens of appreciation and souvenirs. If you are working with a budget, the wedding that you would look for will be one that is inexpensive or cheap. Giving away something inexpensive does not make it any less special. When I think of something inexpensive but workable, I always think of a mug. You might frown down on this suggestion because it is a common type of gift or giveaway, but you should seriously ponder on its merits. Yes, the mug may be the cliche of the gift-giving tradition, but it certainly is a workable object. It has a lot of potential to be a beautiful giveaway when you personalize it and incorporate your touch to it.

As a wedding favor, there are two reasons why I think this common gift, the mug, would be great: first, you would find a lot of mugs that are cheap. Second, it is a very flexible object. If we assume that you are working with a budget, and you have to purchase a nice wedding favor according to this budget, you would probably be able to purchase mugs at the allotted budget. Bought as it is, we know that it would seem bare and dull. However, it is very workable. By workable, I mean that you can add personal touches to it to turn it from something bare and dull to something special and fun. You could probably have a couple picture printed on it, with a message. You could also try putting a note in it, tied with a ribbon. There are many ways that you can make the mug work to your advantage; you need only to choose the way that will be most fitting for you.

For decoration.
The mug that you personalize can be used by your guest to decorate the mantle or the table of his or her home. It can be a good decorative piece, provided that its design will likely be appealing. For practical uses.
The mug can have a decorative appeal, but it can be something that you guests can use for necessary purposes too. They can use them for its basic function, drinking coffee or other beverages. They can also the bug as a holder for small school supplies and other stuff.

Whether it is decorative or practical, the mug is certainly a wedding favor that your guests would find functional.
