Want A Wild Wedding Venue? How About The Zoo!
It is one of the biggest days in a lifetime, and it involves family, friends and colleagues spanning many generations and tastes. Some of the people may not have seen each other for years, or indeed have ever met, and for some it is the only time they get to see the whole family together. I am of course talking about a wedding.
Planning for this big day takes months, and in some cases years, depending on where the marriage is to take place, and what facilities are needed to cater for all the guests needs. Since a reform in the marriage laws a few years ago, there is now a wider variety of venues to choose from for a legal ceremony compared to the previous options of church or registry office.
When planning a wedding, one of the major tasks is selecting a venue to suit the occasion. There are a number of factors that need to be taken into account, from provision of food to the entertainment on offer and the number of guests that need somewhere to stay for the night.
Many venues will provide all the things you need for a successful day, which enables the happy couple to relax and enjoy the day; and there are also venues that give the client freedom to make their own choices, ideal for those who like to keep a little control.
Those of an extrovert nature are now able to hire a truly unique wedding venue to host the whole event, or choose from venues that will hold a reception in conjunction with a nearby chapel or registry office. Some weddings are so unusual that there is very little chance that a license could be attained for the ceremony. In these cases, a formal union is usually made at a nearby registry office and the guest's arrival is saved for the really exciting stuff.
Some of the more unusual weddings that have gained media attention include a couple getting married on the wings of an aeroplane. The union required the use of three bi-planes, one for the bride, one for the groom and a third for the vicar flying up front. There have also been several instances of couples tying the knot under water in diving gear as well as the traditional white dress and top hat and tails.
The most unusual wedding has to be the couple who got married shortly after jumping out of an aeroplane. Sky diving whilst getting hitched is certainly one way to show a loved one that you are committed to living happily ever after.
For the not so brave amongst us, there are more gentle ways to have an unusual day. For a really wild wedding, why not choose to have your ceremony and reception at a zoo. There are packages available for a civil ceremony to take place at London Zoo that caters for up to 300 guests. The bride and groom can have a champagne toast above the bear enclosures, and even have some of the animals at the wedding as special guests!
Or for a wedding day with a bit of a celebrity theme, why not arrange for the marriage to take place at Shepperton Studios, it is a perfect setting for a film-buff couple who want a taste of stardom on the big day. Facilities include all the beauty back-up needed for the day, from hairdressers to beauticians and if your wedding theme involves a grand entrance, there is a heli-pad available for a unique arrival; Bond style maybe!
