Give Your Women's Ministry A Facelift
Do you have an existing women's ministry that is in major need of a facelift? Are you in desperate need for ideas to boost your ministry? Well, with a few new ideas, you can give your current ministry a new facelift and boost it into new heights. Here are a few steps to help you give your women's ministry a new facelift.
The first thing you should do is pray. You should spend some time with the Lord and seek Him concerning your group. Seek wisdom about the needs, wants and goals for changing and improving the ministry.
Next, you should share your hopes, dreams, and visions for your women's ministry with your pastor and your church staff. Let them know what you would like to do. They will help support your plans and ideas and offer their suggestions. You do not want to plan or do anything in the dark, so be sure to share everything with your church pastor and staff as soon as your group agrees on the plans and ideas.
After you share your ideas, then you will need to formulate a purpose statement for your ministry. This statement is something that you need to write down. The main thing to remember when writing your purpose statement is that it must support the overall purpose of the church.
Once you have your purpose written down, review it. Is there some area or part of it that can be changed? Does it need to be changed? Before you make any changes to your women's ministry, you will want to make sure your planned ideas and changes fit the ministry purpose statement.
Now, you will need some new women's ministry ideas. One of the main purposes of a ministry facelift is to change the program to make it more attractive, informative, uplifting, and successful. To do this, you will need to formulate some new ideas.
How often does your ministry meet per month? Are you meeting too much or not enough? What days and times are you meeting on? All of this plays a part on your attendance. Many women have full time jobs and children, so it is difficult for them to attend group meetings.
The best thing to do is to hold an informational meeting and discuss which days, times, and frequency would be best for all women. Maybe you will need to divide your women's ministry into different groups that meet at different times. This is a good idea if your participants have a lot of conflicting schedules. This also gives as many women as possible an opportunity to participate in the ministry. It may even boost your attendance and membership as well.
Next consider what you do at the meetings. Are the meetings organized well? Is the information discussed at the meetings useful, uplifting, informative, and interesting? Once again, a good idea is to take a survey of the women and see what they would like to see happen in their group.
As a group, you should structure your meetings based on the group's needs and wants. Planning as a group will help the ministry a lot because all of the responsibility will not be on the shoulders of one or two people and all of the women will feel that their input is valued.
Maybe you should consider changing the group activities that you participate in. If your women's ministry is involved in mission work, then maybe you can add to the existing mission work or add on completely new projects. Maybe you can change how often your group does missions and how they do them as a whole. You can never give too much, so you will definitely want to consider missions in your ministries facelift.
Another thing that you may want to consider in your ministry facelift is to plan a women's retreat. This will be a great way to get all of the women together for a fun, informative, reviving time. A well-planned retreat may even draw in new members and welcome back past member who have not attended in a long time. A retreat may be a great way to put the final touch on your women's ministry facelift.
In conclusion, giving your ministry a facelift is not something that is very difficult to do. With some time, effort and prayer, you will watch your women's ministry transform before your very eyes. Your church will love what you have done, and your ministry will be a dynamic and integral part of your church and community.
