The Spirit is Willing! Is Your Flesh Weak?

This is not about fighting a battle against a sin of the flesh. It's all about fighting a spiritual battle of faith.

Actually, the verse the Lord directed me to for this message is this one: "I will: be thou clean." (Luke 5: 13)

That was the Lord's answer to a leper, who had begged Him that if he wanted to, he could heal him from his disease. The "I will" of Jesus throughout Scripture was universal. He never turned down anyone who asked for healing.

Jesus "healed all that were sick; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaias the prophet, saying Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses." (Mat. 8: 16 - 17)

Did everyone who was healed have great faith? We do know is that whenever Jesus recognized great faith, He acknowledged it by saying: "Thy faith hath made thee whole" (Mat. 9: 22)

In the case of the leper and others, Jesus instructed them to go to the priest, who was the authority to declare the healings publicly. Their formal declaration was a testimony to all!

Do you have a testimony? Have you received a healing? Did you shout about it publicly to let everyone know how the Power of God worked in your life?

If you are saved, then the Spirit of God indwells you. He is willing at all times to heal you. But, He is waiting for you to ask, and your faith to kick in.

When Peter and John passed a lame beggar, they commanding him to get up, and he was healed instantly. The man wasn't even thinking of a healing; he wanted money! Peter's explanation to the crowd was that the Name of Jesus, "and faith in His name hath made this man strong." (Acts 3: 16)

Since Jesus had died, the people did not believe that anybody else could heal as He had done. Yet, surrounded by all the unbelief, this man danced about, shouting and praising God. He claimed his healing and testified to the whole world about it with great joy!

Why is it that so many Bible believing Christians have no victory in their lives? They believe in healing. But, either they're not sure whether it's God's Will for them, or they erroneously believe that He is teaching them something through their sickness.

Where do you stand? Have you asked for healing directly in prayer, through the laying on of hands, or by asking others to pray for you? Maybe you had a very strong faith and were convinced that you received your healing. But then, somehow, after a while negative thoughts started kicking in!

Yes, the Spirit is willing! Where the flesh falls down is in your thought life! Think about this for a moment. Healing does not always come in the form of an instant miracle. Most often, as explained in Eph. 6: 10 - 13, you need to:

"Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

The other spirit does not want you to be healed because you are a child of God, and healing is a testimony to God's power and your faith in Him! You are in a battle, where you have to constantly fight off thoughts of doubt, unbelief, despair, and disappointment. But, you have received the weapons. Firstly, put on the whole armor of God. (Eph. 6: 13 - 18). Then, when you've done all, stand firm in faith, believing that you have already received your healing - despite physical evidence to the contrary!

Standing firm against logic and negative thoughts is the testing of your faith. Even medical diagnosis is subject to your faith in God's Healing Power! Been there; done that! It works. If God says it, it is so!

"Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Heb. 11: 6)

"By whose stripes ye were healed!" (1 Pet. 3: 24)
