1: Diwali (Deepavali) Celebration in India

Diwali is a five-day festival, which occurs on the 15th day of Kartika (October/ November). During this festive season, homes are thoroughly cleaned and windows are opened to welcome Laksmi - Goddess of Wealth. Candles and lamps are lit to greet Goddess Laksmi. Gifts and sweets are exchanged and festive meals are prepared during Diwali.
