Habits Of Using Cellphones

The boom of the technology revolution has made a great change for Vietnam cellphone system in the last decade. In the years 1995 to 1997, only rich people and businessmen could afford to have a cellphone with an extremely expensive price. Nevertheless, nowadays, almost every student in Vietnam has a cellphone, and many students even use more than one contact number.

It can be explained that cellphone services are now competing in number, so the price is cheaper day by day, despite the inflation. Using cellphones becomes very common, and the bad habits of using one do, too.

1. The bad habits cause the risks for health

Many people, especially the youngsters, never pay attention to how to use a cellphone safely. Although many articles have talked about such, not many students consider it as a problem. They put their cellphone in their pants pocket all day, and put it next to their head while sleeping. In fact, the electromagnetic wave can damage you if its source is too close to you. It can be the cause of headache, mind depression and other health problems including infertility.

2. The bad way of using cell phones not only affects the user's health but it also makes them to become impolite users.

Many students use cellphones just to follow the trend. Therefore, sometimes they do not have any work to do with their cellphone for a long time, and the boredom makes them find something else to do. They call a number and break the call right after the victim picks up. Some find a big interest in this kind of trick. They can spend the whole night annoying a person and laughing aloud upon noticing the victim to be angry. Unfortunately, the weak law in managing the telecommunications system in Vietnam does not have any punishment for this kind of action. Many people are still being annoyed every day.

3. From habits to messaging addicts

Receiving and sending messages are great fun for some students. They chat with their friends by messaging everywhere, even in the toilet or in class. Some students say that they send and receive hundreds of SMS each day, and they feel very uncomfortable if they cannot message regularly. It does not take too much time to write and send an SMS, but it is such a big waste of time if you cannot do anything else when you are chatting by SMS, just writing the SMS, send it and wait for the reply. The consequence is that you cannot pay attention to your work and the bad results are easy to predict.

4. Clips and consequences

The cellphone producers are working hard day by day, and the more people using cellphones, the more modern cellphones are. Ten years ago, a cell phone that can play music was such a luxurious thing. Today we can buy a multimedia gadget for only about $100, so recording videos become a habit of many young people. They record anything they want, from fighting to having sex, and then load it up the Internet! Last 2007 and in the year 2008, almost each month there was a scandal what caused by the clips recorded on a cellphone. A pupil in Quang Binh even tried to kill herself after the clip sex of her and her boyfriend spread.

It seems to be very easy to own a cellphone with a camera, but it also seems to be very difficult to use it appropriately. Is it necessary to make a new subject in the primary and secondary school, which teaches pupils how to deal with the boom of technology including the ways to use cellphones?
