Make sure that your console is properly ventilated, and that fans are nearby, and are properly operating. You may also try an add-on such as the CoolMaster. Add-ons are said to increase the flow of air, and they can be readily ordered via the Internet. You might also want to check the cooling slits of your console and see if anything is blocking air intake.

If the two lights are still flashing red, then you might want to consult help. You can always try those part-time fixes in the Internet, but they are not really that reliable, and your gadgets will most likely stay fixed for only two days or so. You may also want to ask the assistance of professional repair people. Also, you can try contacting Xbox Customer Support. Or, you can always bring your broken console to Microsoft and have them fix it. If your warranty has not expired yet, they do not charge, but if it has, then they usually charge 100-150 dollars for repairs.

Handling your Xbox console would take precautionary measures to prevent this sort of problem. First, never block the ventilation openings of your console. This allows proper air flow. You might want to avoid putting your console on soft surfaces, as they tend to block these openings. Second, never put your console in a confined space. Make sure that your console is placed in well ventilated space. And lastly, do not put your console anywhere near heat sources.

My console keeps on showing 2 redlights,first it was 1redlight after i have opened it its showing 2 redlights ,i am having more questions than answers and nothing is showing on screen.
