<h1>NCAA Football Tickets - Entourage Characters and their Corresponding Football Teams</h1> by BrentWarnken In the life of the 20-something adult, Saturday morning is spent watching college football on a cable sports network, and Sunday night is spent watching the latest TiVo'd episode of HBO's Entourage. These two things- college football and Entourage- book-end the weekend of many a young adult, so it seems only necessary that we explore how related these two pieces of entertainment can be. They both provide drama, laughs, and tons of male bonding hours spent on a dirty sofa. 
But let's dig deeper. What is it about Entourage and college football that we find most compelling? What are the values, the attributes of the characters in the TV show and the teams in the NCAA that make us so interested and invested? For an exercise in comparative entertainment, we'll try to break down some college football teams and their corresponding characters on Entourage. Remember to watch Entourage next season, and get out there and buy some NCAA football tickets so that you can get some sunshine this weekend. 
Ari Gold - USC Trojans 
Ari Gold is king of his castle, as he's worked very hard and talked very fast to get to the head of his own (well, co-owned) talent agency. This is similar to the way the Trojans have played themselves to the upper echelon of the Pac-10, to the point where they are peerless at the top, with no real equal. 
To find competition the Trojans usually have to go out of conference, and the same goes for Ari Gold. Ari's assistant Lloyd is like the rest of the Pac-10, subservient and always taking a (verbal) beating when the Trojans get a little bored or flustered. 
Vincent Chase - Texas Tech 
Vince is cool, calm and collected. He's the one in the group with all the talent and the good looks. He's the sole reason the boys are in Hollywood, and as soon as the money train runs out they'll probably all be back in Queens bussing tables for a living. While it would make sense to list an established school like Alabama or Penn State as the character Vincent Chase, based on their value to the game as a whole, I think Texas Tech works well here because Vince is constantly trying to be the next big thing. 
Like Texas Tech, Vince isn't already an established name, so he constantly has to perform well under pressure. Texas Tech isn't exactly a historical powerhouse, but they're trying to build a program there that's made for the long haul. With Michael Crabtree they have a flash in the pan- but will the Red Raiders and Vincent Chase be able to take their stardom to the A-list? 
Will fans buy NCAA football tickets to see the Red Raiders in the same way they bought tickets to see Aquaman? Or will the tickets sell like Medellin? 
Eric "E" Murphy - Notre Dame 
While it's likely that I chose Notre Dame for E because of the Irish thing, there are other reasons, as well. Eric is the businessman of the group. He tries to get into the Hollywood movie industry by becoming Vince's manager, and then starts up a fledgling management company of his own, called The Murphy Group. This kind of entrepreneurial spirit reminds me of Notre Dame, a school that seems to have a knack for turning a profit and selling NCAA football tickets even in bad times. 
He's the least likely group member to get into some sort of moral quandary, and has his feet firmly on the ground with a level head. Traditional Catholic values all around. Or maybe better yet E could be BYU.
