Women And Their Various Hats

For some women, the hat is the finishing touch of an outfit. Hats can come in all shapes and sizes so that women can really have whatever she wants. Today's hat market has a never-ending supply of selections with every occasion accounted for. Some of the most common occasions for hat wearing are as follows:

Kentucky Derby

Hats appear at Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby in a never-ending array. In some cases, it's just as exciting to see the hats as it is to see the horses, or nearly so. Even if you can't afford to go to the Kentucky Derby yourself, you can still host your own Kentucky Derby party and have all of your friends compete to see who has the best hat for the day. At Churchill Downs, a few winners have boasted such things as plastic horses on the brim, boa brims and feather bases, or a collection of fresh flowers.

Church

It is not uncommon to wear a hat to a religious service, although it used to be much more common. For some people, wearing a hat to church is part of a deep-seated tradition and in some cases has significance in various religious communities. Some women, in fact, have hundreds of hats just to wear to church, and may even have them stored in their own special place.

Easter

The Easter bonnet is not just the catchphrase of a popular song from years past. Instead, many women purchase them especially for their church services or for the local Easter Parade. When you choose the right Easter hat, you have many colors to consider. Pink, yellow, lavender or light blue are some of the more common ones. You can also choose to add colored blooms for decoration. Some women may even decide to adorn their hats with the extra Easter eggs they have from other Easter pursuits.

Wedding Reception

Many women wear hats to wedding receptions, especially if they take place outdoors. Warm weather and sunshine, as well as rainy weather, can cause problems for folks outdoors. However, for someone wearing a hat, they can be protected from burning rays or at least protect their hairdos from slight drizzle. Brides, too, sometimes wear hats to top off their wedding attire, such as a hat that has a wedding veil trailing from atop the hat and draped behind.

Sunbathing in Style

If you are on the beach with friends or are just lying in the sun, a hat can help keep the sun out of your face and protect you from its dangers. However, you can also make a fashion statement. Find a perfect match for your bikini or one piece in no time, with a variety of brilliant colors to choose from.

Tea Time

If you're someone who likes to attend tea parties, you might know that it's one opportunity for a woman to showcase her latest addition to her hat collection. You can also plan a party for close friends and have guests come dressed to the hilt, literally, topped off with their favorite hat. If you like, have them bring a treat for the event, such as cookies, muffins, or their favorite pie.
